Avoidance Of Pyramiding
I am new to this forum and hope I post this question in the correct area. I am currently rated at 20% for "8513 - All radicular groups" for a closed comminuted fracture (8 pieces = 8 retained screws) of the left humerus. They also assigned 10% for "5024 - Tenosynovitus" left arm and left shoulder for chronic pain. Would opening a new claim for bone deformity and tricep muscle injury be considered pyramiding? Please assume I have the medical evidence to support the new claim. Thanks, Dean a.k.a. PintoRacer

Deceased Veterans Estate
I am trying to help a friend (Neice) who's uncle was a 100% Vet, ruled incompetent by the VA and the state. He passed last month in a VA home. He had no will, no wife, no kids. My friends Aunt (sister of the Vet) was over his affairs, now there is a fight with another sister about the fidicuary on the estate..there seems to be some hanky panky with the funds, and when the Neice asked to see records the Aunt and her hubby told her the VA would not let them look at the records :o . To me this was a red flag, as I dont think other than a final audit, the VA would have anymore skin in the fight...could I be missing something...I cant find anything in the regs to back th…

Question About Claim
I just received paper work from the VA asking for information on my claim for peripheral neuropathy being dx'd as secondary to my DMII. My dx was by my family PCP and when I sent the claim in thru my VSO we included a ROI for the VA to get my records or information as needed from my PCP. Should I get any additional statements from my doctor and send in or just let the VA get the information they need from him? I've read where you don't want to over welm the VA with to much paper work on a claim because it just confuses them. This was posted on the va watchdog site by Jim. Jeff

My Osa Re-open Claim - Getting There - Qq?
Hi gang, My OSA re-open claim is being processed in Phoenix RO as brokered from my Oakland-VARO. I called the 1-800 to inquire my status few minutes ago. Here's what he said: 1. There is good news! 2. It was completed from the rating board and wait for a little bit longer as it will go to the finance and end approval. I am impressed as my re-open was submitted late December Y2009 timeframe. On Feb. this year, they requested an IMO, 2 witness letters, my CPAP supply record from VA & the VCAA letter. I responded two weeks ago. Here's my question. Would it be possible that I can also be denied from the rating board? The 1-800 service rep seems to be encoura…

Suspended Account
Hi everyone, I was in VA Claims General here at hadit, when the words "THIS ACCOUNT IS SUSPENDED" came up and each time I would click on a new topic or anything these words would appear. This took place for about 25 to 30 minutes. I don't know why my account would be suspended when I didn't do or say anything wrong at anytime. So please can a moderator explain to me as to why my account was suspended. This is scarry. Thanks!

Getting A Disabeled Vet Car Plate
My friend has 30% and asked me about a tag for her car. I told her about the board but she has no computer. What % do you have to have to get the DV Tag and what does she need, if she qualifies, to get it.

Initial Claim For Panic Disorder
Hi to all. I retired last Fall and filed a Disability claim for my numerous issues stemming from Panic Disorder acquired in service. I have mental health records to back up this condition, along with Depression and OCD tendencies. Part of my treatment for Panic disorder involved daily exercise. THis has resulted in me developing chronic Illio tibial band syndrome that has also been treated throughout my service as seen in my records. There are 2 conditions that are a result of the panic disorder, ulcers or rather gastroenteritis, and muscle fasiculation syndrome. Anyhow, I have filed my claim back in December, I have sent and re-sent info to the VA, the last being in Feb…

Speaking Of Travel Pay...
My better half is going to start Physical Therapy today. He's 50%, and the PT was ordered by the VA and it's for his SC shoulder condition. Got the Voucher, etc. My question is, how does he get reimbursed for the Travel? Is there a form the PTherapist should sign for him? Who do we send it to? Just wanting to know, because he's been authorized for 12 visits and that's going to add up in miles - the PT center is 27 miles one-way from door to door. (I know cause I go there for a non-SC related issue, so no travel for lil' ol' 10% me :o )

C&p Exam
JUST GOT MY C&P EXAM BACK TODAY AND IT READS,based on data reviewed here and its congruency with information on possibile side affects of methocarbamol and diclofenac , it is least as likely as not(50/50 probility) that the veteran, current complaints of stomach problems and acid reflux are related to pain and muscle relaxer (sic) medication prescribed for service connection right shoulder disability. I belive that i have won this claim, but i welcome any input from anyone. What do you think?

Claim Questions?
I called the VA today to check the status of my temporary 100% claim for surgery and they stated “it was ready for decision”. What does this mean and how long does it usually take? I am rated 0% for the condition I had surgery on. Also, will the VA set me up a C&P exam automatically to determine where I stand? My Veterans service officer stated that I don’t need to file for an increase because they would set that up automatically? Any advice?

Fighting To Stay In The Air Force
A friend of mine is currently active duty air force. He is being forced into a medical retirement with 30% disability from the air force. He less than three years away from full retirement and desparately wants to stay in the air force, and will do anything to stay. Trick is...I don't know how to help him or even where to start, I suggested he get a JAG but they say he will be provided with a JAG three days before the final evaluation. Apparently he has nearly 3 full days of medical tests and psych evaluations. I Just don't think three days is enough. He is also afraid of them just kicking him out without disability if he tries to stay in. ANy help would be…
