Bva Perfection Info
I had a BVA Travel Board Hearing last month at my local VARO. Yesterday I received a letter from BVA telling me the records in my appeal have arrived at the Board on July 6, 2006. It also informed me to pay special attention to the letter my local VA Regional Office sent to me when it forwarded my file to BVA. Info about restrictions on sending the Board new evidence about my case and on requesting a hearing at the Board or appointing or changing your representative. I had not nor have not received a letter concerning this from my local VARO. I called 800-827-1000, the *&%^ I got on the phone said I don't need a letter but gave me the date of transfer as Jul…

Diagnostic Codes
Where do I find the diagnostic codes for diseases for rating purposes? I know there is a page that has been posted here before. If a vet has a disorder that is caused by a side effect of a VA medication would that be a compensable disability?

hypertension Effective Date Of Claim
In Feb 03 I filed a claim for an increased rating for a back problem. My back injury was SC at zero percent. In a July 05 rating VA denied my claim. I submitted a NOD in Aug 05. In Jan 06 VA approved a 10 percent rating for my back with an effective date of Jan 06. I think the effective date should have been Feb 03 the date of the original claim. I did not miss any dates for the NOD ect......... The same rating approved an increase in my SC hypertension from 10 to 20 percent effective Feb 03. I do not know what they did. Should I file another NOD on the effective date? Thanks Ricky Forgot to mention: The back claim is included in my Feb 06 formal appeal (V…

hypertension Service Medical Records
Hello to all. What is the relavence of service medical records? The reason I am posting is that I originally filed a claim for a head and neck injury, Hypertension, Migraine headaches in 1993. I had a NP C@P exam in 1994 with no service medical records. Of course the claim was denied. I filed to re-open the claim in 1997 and to my suprise the service medical records were there. They still denied the claim. I filed a NOD and it was also dened. The Letter stated that the SMR stated I had been hot with an unknown object. There were no complaints of treatment for Hypertension or Headaches. In 2003 I filed to re-open the claims based on new evidence. I had received all the…

diabetes The Value Of Research-
you all know- and are probably tired of hearing this- that VA denied my AO direct death claim due to lack of diabetes diagnose and due to lack of diabetes as contributing -on my husband's death certificate. I obtained a complete IMO from Dr. BAsh, who determined that the veteran did have diabetes, reflected in numerous statements and lab tests etc in Rod's med recs.and including the veteran's autopsy. The VA has refused to even read the IMO and I recently sent it to their director who I believe is literate. It is not complex and fully states the rationale and references the specific medical records, etc to render the opinion sound- also another VA doc had sent …
