Dro Hearing Date
Just notified that I have my DRO hearing scheduled next month. Here is my question: I filed a for a DRO hearing in 2008 for disputed claims, then I had new claims adjudicated, filed For a DRO hearing on those issues that were denied in 2009. What rule or reg states that all issues will be heard at this hearing. Thanks for the help. Ruby

hypertension Pissed
I received my claim for Diabetic Neuropathy yesterday, giving me 10% each for upper and lower extremities on my right side, but nothing on my left side ? How can these people test you, have a doctor give you a c/p for both sides, when the exam says I have it in both sides, and turn around and ignore my left side because I had a stroke on my left side. A stroke and neuropathy are two different animals..The second item is they completely ignored my claim for hypertension as secondary to my coronary disease. I think by not giving me 10% each for my left side, and ignoring my hypertension, allowed them to play games with their Chinese math, to keep me at 90%.

Can You Believe This?
As some of you know my "reconsideration" of my denied claim was also denied even though I am required to wear a brace on my ankle in order to even walk. Well, I requested a copy of my VA medical records and was shocked to discover the last C&P exam for my "reconsideration" consisted of a blank sheet of paper with the Dr's approval signature who did my C&P at the bottom. I went to my local clinic and they pulled up my medical records and were amazed that they saw the same thing I had gotten a copy of. There is no copy of the C&P exam in the VA computer system. Just a blank sheet of paper with a signature on it. How in hell did the rating staff make a deci…

Nexus From Neurosurgen
I received a nexus letter from my neurosurgen today in the mail. He is very nice and the first surgery I had with this group was with a different doctor who said he does not do disabilty and how should he know if they are related(1989 surgery and his surgery in august 2009) and would not even think of writing a nexus for me. So happens my next surgery, about three months later (all at L4-L5), was with this other doctor who is younger and the only one in their neurosurgical group that does fusions. I am very thankful for this letter. Please let me know what you think. Keep in mind I might not get him to change much. I feel he has done so much for me. Please look a…

Reopen Va. Claim
I retired in 1996 and got rated at 40% in 1998. Right arm is 20% but I now have a moderate to severe twitch and numbness in this arm. My lower back was rated at 10% but now my right leg is going numb aswell. I have been seen by my doctor for both since 1996, hospital stay for one week aswell. I have seen a civillian Neuro. Dr and both of my doctors say this will only get worse. I am also a Gulf war vet and wonder if this is because of Gulf War or not. :D

Charles V. Shinseki
This is good news for Vets where the VA failed to notify the Veteran of a decision, and I think this applies to "unadjudicated" claims when the RO decides one issue, and "blows off" other issues, as they did in my case. http://veteranclaimresearch.blogspot.com/2...hinseki-no.html I will post pertinent parts of this:
Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Federal Circuit, Charles v. Shinseki, No. 2009-7024, 3.103(f), Secretary's failure to respond to argument
We are prese…

St. Paul Minnesota Letter Today
I received a classic "We have your claim and we have a large backlog" letter today. It says in the first line - " We have received your application for benefits." Some of you may remember that I won DIC at the BVA last month after six years of trying. While I realize that it will take time for the paper to make it through the mill so to speak for the award to be written, I was surprised to receive a letter from VA in St. Louis. My home VARO is Anchorage, AK. The other thing that makes me wonder what is going on is that at the top of the page under the case/file number is "Payee No. 10" and under that is my late husband's name. I have never seen Payee No. 10 befor…

Transfer Vas?
I am a patient at the VA and I have no outside healthcare. I know that all facilities are messed up in one way or another, but it is time to change facilities. I cannot receive good care at the old facility any more. The problem is transportation. neither facility's DAV will take me if I actually transfer, and I cannot get a medical transportation slip without my primary care provider's signature (which will never happen). I live in a rural area, so there is no public transportation to the next facility. If I cannot find an answer, I am done using the VA for healthcare and will deal with ER bills as they come up.

tinnitus My First C&p Exams Start Monday...
I am almost clueless at this point and feeling overwhelmed. Quick refresh on my sit-rep: retired Aug 09, filed claims in Nov 09, received QTC questionnaires this month. My wife is active duty so I am using Tri-Care when needed. I have a history of back problems in my Med Record and was seen recently for my back and knee problems through Tri Care as a dependent. MRI done in Nov results in laymen's terms from radiology and nuero boil down to arthritis of the back, when I pushed the nuero doc a little he said DDD and thinks back injections "might help". I do not have that report from him yet. I have a claim in for my back and that is one of my exams this Monday. I am look…

Disabled Vet Assisted Living And Nursing Home Care
Can someone please update me, can a disabled veteran with service connected disabilities expect extra benefits for assisted living and nursing home care? if so, is it only for veterans with dependents compensation? or those rate permanent and total. In civilian terms I think my question would be - do I and my husband need long term care insurance at all? (er, he's much healthier than I!) Thank you for any thoughts, Your Hadit'Cowgirl
