I Am New To All This Va Stuff And Need Help.
I am a Army National Guard and Navy vet with honorable discharges. When i was in the Navy i was injured while crossing over the line. Navy USS Samuel Gompers tradition back in 1982. Some jerk hit me on the spine with a sword. Of course I filed that sword in the big blue. Now some 20 plus years later I have a knot that has come up right we he hit me. I have nothing in my service jacket to support the event, as it was a hasing event. But i did find Photos of the guy with the sword on the USS Samuel Gompers crew site, they have posted the line crossing photos. There are two photos of the Guy with the sword and one actually has him with the sword on a crew members back. And i…

Qualifications For Examiners Performing C&p Mental Disorder Exams
There's another topic entitled Helpful Websites http://www.hadit.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34686 in which I found through following a link of one of the sites a description on QUALIFICATIONS FOR EXAMINERS PERFORMING COMPENSATION AND PENSION (C&P) MENTAL DISORDER EXAMINATIONS http://www1.va.gov/vhapublications/ViewPub...asp?pub_ID=1391 That seems to have started a discussion on whether it would be helpful or not. It is a great discussion, but I didn't want others to think I had pirated the Helpful Website. That wasn't my intent. I just thought it was great to find something that might be helpful within the number of links mentioned. The reason f…

ptsd P&t Question
I carried a 40% for many years for my SC back and ankle. I was granted 100% SC for PTSD in August of 2007. But it was not listed as P&T. I currently have an ongoing claim for increased disability for my back and ankle from (2006). The question I have is.. In my medical file dated November 2009, from my psychiatrist is states, “Veteran is unable to work. He is permanently and totally disabled.” How do I go about filing for P&T? Is this enough evidence to prove P&T? Since I have a claim open (represented through the DAV) should I send a copy of the medical record showing the evidence? Or do I just need to file for it myself? Any help would be appreciated.

tdiu Nod,cue And Appeal
I was recently denied on my tdiu claim and part of it was my fault. I didn' get the form from my former supervisor before they made the decision. The va said they contacted my former supervisor but he says he never received it and I believe him. They also said there was no record in my file that indicated I had a prescription for insulin. This info is in my private Dr's examination reports of which the va has a copy of which they didn't review. They also gave me a specialized eye examination which stated that I could count fingers at four feet with my left eye . I can't count fingers at two feet. The decision also said that my eyes had improved since my last evaluation a…

ptsd Helpful Web-sites
Below are web-sites that provide information on Veterans benefits and how to file/ask for them. Accordingly, there are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military/medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Please pass this information on to every Veteran you know. Nearly 100% of this information is free and available for all veterans, the only catch is: you have to ask for it, because they won't tell you about a specific benefit unless you ask for it. You need to know what questions to ask so the right doors open for you -- and then be ready to have an advocate who is willing to work with and for you, stay in the process, and p…

Made An Imo Format - May I Have Your Thoughts?
I figured that when going to see the Dr, it might help if I had a 'form' partly filled in and ready for them to just add a line or two and a signature. I used one I saw here or somewhere online, and adjusted it a little. I'd really like to know what anyone thinks about it: Veteran's Name: ________________________________________________________ Veteran's File Number _______________________ Diagnosis/Condition_______________________________________________________ Practitioner's Name ______________________________________________________ Practitioner's Address _________________________…
