Opinions On My Sc Nexus?
My military service record history: 1991 - Automobile accident where I was taken to the post hospital and treated for shoulder and c-spine injuries. Sent home with Motrin after Xrays were normal (did they have MRI's back then??). Went to Troop Medical Clinic the next day in pain. Sent home again and told it was normal. Gave up going to sick call after that. 1993 - Subluxation of the patella in my knee. I was running during a night exercise while wearing night vision goggles. That 3rd dimension (depth) is really important when running, huh? I was on a remote island out in the Pacific. Was flown to Hawaii for treatment at Trippler. Xrays showed negative, sent hom…

Military Pay In Lieu Of Compensation
Here's the details: I currently have a claim in with the VA. This claim is an appeal to my original rating. I just checked it on ebenefits; its under a pending decision approval. However, a new claim has been opened up, today, stating: "Military pay in lieu of compensation" This is current as of today. I think that is what the VA decided on my current claim which is still in a pending decision approval. Can someone tell me what does this Military Pay in lieu of compensation means? It also states it will take 95 to 138 days to process. Thank You

Aggravation Of Congenital Tarsal Coalition
I just started researching my eligibility for VA compensation. I am looking for some information and advice on how to proceed. Here's the story.... I am in the Air Guard and was sent to SERE training. SERE training is a very rigorous and physical training course with a lot of abuse placed on the body. At the time of the training, I didn't incur a traumatic injury, but had issues after returning from training. My opinion is that due to level of activity at the training, I aggravated what is known as a tarsal coalition (bony bridge between the tarsal or large bones of the ankle). The tarsal coalition is a congenital condition that generally surfaces during adoles…

hypertension Ssdi Hearing
I had a hearing about two weeks ago before a ALJ. I was driven about and hour to the hearing and waited about two hours before I saw the judge. My attorney met with the judge first for about 15 min. I was then told by my attorney that I would not have to give much testimony. I was in with the judge and the occupational specialist for about six minutes. It was brief and to the point . The occupational specialist stated that my past work skills "did not" translate to a sedentary work/job. This process has been going on 14 months now. Anyone has an idea how much longer decision could take. I am SC for depression/w ptsd, sleep apena, hypertension, GERD and right knee …

Bipolar Misdiagnosed
I went to medical about a month and a half from my discharge date. I complained of difficulty breathing. I was told I had asthma and given inhalers. The inhalers didn't work and I returned to medical three more times. I was discharged. 11 years later I was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar disorder. I felt the same difficulty breathing that I had prior to my discharge. Do you think my VA claim for misdiagnosis will fly? I appplied for disability but I'm not sure if I'll get it. Also, I frequently hallucinated on my ship and the command was aware of it. I think it was hallucinations due to stress. I didnt want to go to medical becuase I didnt want to get kicked out on …

diabetes Quick Pay Eligible?
I read in a previous post about something else that I was not aware of. I am beginning to get a bit angry, not sure if it as at myself for not being being education or those holding the big secret. This is the post "“The Quick Pay Disability initiative enables Veterans service representatives to fast-track payments to Veterans who have submitted sufficient evidence to decide all or part of a claim. The program covers a wide range of medical conditions, including diabetes mellitus and prostate cancer for Vietnam-era Veterans as well as surgery or joint replacement for a previously service-connected condition. These claims require minimal supporting evidence, allowing …
