diabetes Depression And Other Issues
Hello everyone, I am new to this site. I recently received a 30% rating for Depression and Anxiety. I have experienced other issues since getting out of the service. I have been diagnosed with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Sleep Apnea. I filed a claim for Sleep apnea but was denied due to not having it while in the military. Should I file for these other secondary issues?

Have I Messed Up My Claim?
First off, let me say I wish I had found this site a few months ago (before submitting my 21-526c) as I have learned much about the process. I am on active duty and am in the BDD process. When I turned in my form 21-526c I wrote that I was claiming "chronic left foot pain". I have a history of (multiple episodes) of severe metatarsalgia, diagnoses of a tarsal coalition (MRI), suspected pes planus (MRI) as well as a loss of ROM with my left ankle. I wear orthopedic inserts to try and soften the impact of running/walking on my feet. I was just told that because I wrote "chronic left foot pain" instead of listing each medical diagnoses that the metatarsalgia, pes pl…

What Is The Compensation For Reoccuring Prostate Cancer
What is the compensation for Prostate Cancer? I am confused. I was in the Army 1964 ~ 1967 but was not in country/ Vietnam. But during my duty station assignment in FT Lewis, WA I was exposed to Herbicides and Pesticides. For years (40 Years) I believed it was AO but DOD claims no AO used at Ft Lewis. But during the time 1.5 years I was exposed to Pesticides used to kill insects and weeds on a live fire training range. That we demo to trainee two times per day how an Infantry Squad would advance with 5 men laying down cover fire. Fast forward 1997 Prostate Cancer surgery to remove Less than one year later 1998 Prostate Cancer has returned 7.5 weeks of radiation tre…

Va And Med Retirement.
Hello. I was discharged from the Army in 2005. VA origionally had me at combined 20% disability, but after first visit/evaluation at the VA, that was bumped to 50% combined (spine, knees, ankles and lungs). I have been getting VA benifits since date of discharge. I did get severence pay, but that was docked out of my VA bens untill it was payed back. My wife found information regarding the Physical Disability Board of Review, or PDBR. Apparantly members medically discharged between 2001 and 2009 with 20% or lower are encouraged to get a review to see if it should have been higher, thus earning a medical retirement, instead of just discharge. Does anyone have a…

One Year And Still Waiting
Just talked to the DAV Rep in St. Pete. The VA is waiting for the AF/DOD confirmation that I was in Nam. What the H@##$%%. I sent them medical records where I was seen at Phan Rang and Pleiku medical clinics. I sent copies of personnel records that shows I was in Nam in 1968. About 6 months ago, I noticed that Ebennies had me only serving fro Oct 1980 to nov 1984. I sent them copies of my 214 that was 3 pages long. they only had the first page in there file. IT'S STILL That way!!!! Pure incompitdence!!!!! in the VA files. Ebennies has it right. The DAV rep said That is the reason they ask for ther confirmation. They (AIR FORCE/DOD) has had the paperwork since …

How Does Secondary Conditions Work
I recently got award 20% for my feet. Was fighting with VA for almost 18 months when I won. But for years I had pretty bad depression due to the pain. I was trying to deal with it on my own for years. Last month I finally asked the VA for help. They had me go to a social worker at the local mini VA office. I been meeting with him for two visits so far. He referred me to a VA shrink downtown. He also said that my depression is a secondary condition to my breathing and feet pain. My claim for breathing issues (asthma) and back issue is still pending appeal with that VA. Been almost 6 months on the appeal. The VA shrink downtown said that he believes the depression is …

Fibromyalgia / Ibs
I have been told that if you have so many symptoms of Fibromyalgia ( that have already been SC) that the VA will group those individual ratings together for 1 rating. IE: headaches @ 10% chronic fatigue @ 20% left knee strain ( joint) 10% right knee surgery residuals 10 % documented neuropathy documented IBS - recently filed a claim not SC yet documented joint pain and stiffness documented memory loss Anyway, the maximum you can be rated for with Fibro is 40 %. And I haven't heard what the rating max is for IBS. The question is, is it likely for the VA to group ratings together ( inferred) so they will not have to give a higher …

tdiu I'm Confused About Td Combined Vs. Tdiu?
So what is the difference or how does it work again? TDIU Filing vs a Totally Disabled Combined Claim? I'm Total of 80% right now and have one disability at 60% mental health. Can I file or what is the process? Can someone list the order of what happens or could happen? I haven't worked for 1 year now but I don't want TDIU. I just want the TD Combined.

ptsd Feeling So Frurstrated With Ptsd Claim And Va
Hello I’m an Air Force vet I really feeling lost, confused and frustrated at this point. I’m currently service connected for Migraines at 0% and just put in new claims for PTSD and M.R.S.A. After the advisement of my Psychologists to research more in the process I found this place. I really feel frustrated and have been honorably discharged from the Air Force since 2005. After reading about what constitutes for disability percentages for migraines, it frustrates me more knowing I get migraines that are “prostrating” twice a week, and twice a month is the guideline for 50%. But I hate going to the va, I hate going to therapy, and battling to get benefits. But alas I’m he…
