Is It Worth While To Apply For Va Compensation
Not long ago the USS Vancouver (LPD-2) was added to the list of agent orange ships. A shipmate of mine from the Vancouver urged me to apply for VA benefits. I am physically okay except for my hearing, so I saw no reason for applying. I am presently vacationing in Florida at an RV park with a group of retired military. I am surprised at the number of them that are receiving VA compensation benefits. One of the group, Russ, explained to me that I should be a "shoe in" to receive compensation and that I owe it to my wife to apply. So, I have sent for my my military service and medical records. I was on the USS Vancouver when it was in Viet Nam in 1968. In 1969 I was att…

100% Service Connected Award Received December, Suspended In January?
After a long stressful wait during the slow claims process, I was awarded 100% Service Connected Disability and received my retroactive payment and the first monthly payment in December 2012. PRAISE GOD! I thought the long battle was won... I was then disappointed to discover no January payment so with several calls to the helpline, no idea what the problem was, give it another month they said...no February payment either. By this time my wife and I are checking ebenefits and calling the helpline regularly again. This is so frustrating and confusing but finally a new claim pops up on Ebenefits, "Eligibility Determination". So after all the time it took the VA to det…

ptsd Physc Doctor Using Her Authority
I had an appointment six weeks ago with my Physc Doctor, she was out sick and a replacement Doctor came in to see me. She didn't say much and burried her face in the cumputer and asked me if I would be interested in going to a PTSD counseling. I replied sure. She then set me up an appointment. My next appointment four weeks later was with my regular Physc Doctor. I speaking with her I discovered the last Doctor raised my GAF score. I don't get it, that Doctor didn't know anything about my history, I saw her one time and barely spoke. Is this abuse of power ? Or the VA can just screw the Vets whenever ?

Would Fileing For Fibro Be Beneficial? Your Thoughts.
Ok, i've been reading alot about Fibromyalgia, and I have every symptom I can find, some of the related symptoms I have been rated for by the VA already. But, I have never been diagnosed with FMS, and the Drs have never even brought it up despite seeing me for every symptom and condition related to it. My question is; If i filed a claim for FMS, would they take away my ratings for anything that could be a symptom of Figro? "i.e migrains, joint pain, insomnia ect ect" and just give me the one rating for FMS lowering my overall %? I ask this cause I have seen a few others on here lately talk about FMS as well, and this might be able to help them too.

cervical strain Regard Gunshot Inury In Gulf War
Jus looking for some insight. I have a congressmans office involved a few month ago. My claim has been in reno. I filed for neck strain back in 1996 but was denied. I didnt appeal so it was final. I know me cervical strain is a result of the gunshot injury in 1991. The va stated there was no correlation between the injury and neck issue. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in 2003 by the va. Its rather interesting the Va grants service connection for bullet fragments in scalp and concussion and amnesia but at 0% for scar. I have uneven bridging on the left side of my head which the va doc never examined. Most of all i believe that i hope to get my dd214 corrected and rece…
