Is There A Statue Of Limitations On Debt To Va?
The VA is attesting that I was overpaid for my dependents because they never received notification of my divorce. At one time, I did have documentation of the package that I sent to the VA showing that my wife and I divorced, but I no longer have this. I had the postage receipt which of course, probably would not be sufficient even if I could find it again. I have not recognized this debt or did anything yet. I got the letter and then I looked for the postage receipt to show that I did send in the notification to them, but I can't locate it. I could call my ex-wife and ask her and she if she took it when she came back to get some things after the divorce, but why go…

Self Improvement Courses And 100% P&t
Happy holidays friends. I have a question concerning the possibility of attaining a law degree after 100% P&T not as a means of earning income, but as a means of self improvement and the accomplishment of childhood goals and aspirations that were truncated and scuttled due to debilitating war injuries. I'm legally blind among other disabilities and would like to reclaim a sense of who I was before my injuries. I'm not even at 100% yet but was nursing the prospect of earning this degree through online schooling or some other less intrusive and private medium. Do any of you good folks see a conflict here with federal and state laws or am I within my rights to reach as h…

I have been working at my job for 17 plus years as a police officer and I have been in two shootings in my career the first sent me to VA for help and the second one was just a few weeks ago. Due to a drug test after my shooting, I tested positive for two VA prescribed medications (prozac and trazadone) used to treat my ptsd. I had to bring in a letter from my VA doctor showing that I had a legal prescription. Once my employer learned I had …

Boots On Ground
I have recently filed a claim for exposure to herbicdes while assigned TDY at Korat AFB 72-73. I was a jet engine mechanic and supplied as much supporting documentation that I had. I filed over 2 months ago, talked to the 800 number twice but have not recieved any verification that they have reviewed my claim - I do have a certified delivery receipt showing it was signed for at the mailroom's VARO on Oct 23, 2012. Yesterday I finally got a reply from NPRC regarding my requests for pay/travel records for my 2 TDY tours to Korat AFB. To my suprise one of my stops was at Ton Son Nhut AFB RVN, it states that I arrived at 1400 and departed 1450. I think if I refile I should…

ptsd Starting A New Claim
I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this, I am trying to clear my head enough to start a new claim. I know it will take probably 2 years or more, but I would like someone with experience to chime in. I have been Dx'ed for sleep apnea. I have been reading some post (berta,Carlie) about IMO and when to use the IMO. (after the C&P exam is what I am thinking). The C&P examiners report could be presented to the Doctor/IMO along with pertinent medical records from VA, to counter a bad C&P. I have been discharged from the Army since 2005. I presented a claim for ptsd in 2006, and was granted it about 9 months later. I know the VA is backlogged,so b…

ptsd Can The Va Contact A Former Employer Concerning Youe Claim?
So my buddy called me today an informed me that he just got a letter from the VA stating that they will attempt to get treatment records from his former employer which is the Sheriff’s Office. This just doesn’t sound right to me why would they need treatment records from his former employer. I mean it’s not like they ever knew anything at all about his VA claims or the fact that he was diagnosed with PTSD. Is it even legal for the VA to contact his former employer and ask question about his mental or physical state while he worked for them? I know he did file for TDIU could the VA just be contacting his former employer to ensure he is not working???

Total And Permanent Disabilty
I am currently rated at 90% and have a question about the requirements for receiving total and permanent disability. Do you have to not be working to receive it? Is there a limit on how much you can earn? Do you have to be rated 100% to be eligible if you are still working. How do you apply? Any other information would be greatly appreciated!!

Atomic Veteran's
A veteran friend of mine, which is 88 years old and occupation at Nagasaki in Sept 1945 until July of 1946. In the last 15 years he has come down with cancer's in different place. He found out about the Atomic Veteran radiation. He file in the first of this year, and time is not on this side. VA has not ask for a C&P yet, all they have send is letter's as late as Sept. saying sorry for the delay. He does not have a VSO or DAV person to help. Should I call VA direct for him or should I take this to VSO down at the VA hospital? Would like input Please!

ptsd Depression Appeal
I am currently 30% SC for Depression. I have appealed this rating because I feel that it was too low. I tried to commit suicide on active duty and was sent to a private hospital off base when I had my attempt. Those records from that hospital were never considered when my claim was completed. I am also a government employee who is on Workman's Comp for PTSD due to tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as a civilian federal employee. I currently see a psychologist at the VA and he prescribes my meds. When I went in to see him in August he had me with a GAF score of 50. I see a private psychologist and he gave me a GAF of 35. I also had a second opinion done for my PTSD and he dee…
