Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
Once you know you are eligible for Veterans Disability Compensation, the question then becomes are you entitled to it by law. This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

ptsd TBI v. Post Traumatic Headaches or Both???
This is my first time posting, so I hope it is to the right forum. If not, let me know and I'll repost it where it belongs. Here's my issue.... I was recently medically retired and am trying to figure out whether or not I need file an appeal for my TBI claim. I was injured during an airborne training exercise and was treated for a concussion which left me unconscious for nearly 2 hours (I suffered a concussion after blast in 2012, but no one can seem to locate my deployment medical records). I was being treated at the TBI clinic for post-traumatic headaches for long enough that a med board was started and I still get them just as horribly today. When I retir…

Deferred and not service connected
I had received 100% temporary for my right shoulder due to a surgery for rotator cuff, I went to file for my left should as well, because it started hurting, the VA person who help me out filed it under a secondary condition, but I thought I was filing for a non secondary condition. My questions are: 1. Should I go back and file for my left shoulder as a non secondary condition? 2. I received my packet and it stated left shoulder condition was deferred until my C&P exam, I logged on to ebenefits today and it shows I did not receive anything for my left shoulder, and stated it was not service connected. I am getting 10% now for my right should since the temp …

dishonorable discharges
there is a big discussion going on some site that the government and the va aren't being fair to veterans who received dishonorable discharges but were hurt while they served. for as long as i can remember, it is browbeaten into your head not to screw up because you won't get benefits. but here is my question, should they? should someone with a dishonorable discharge receive va benefits including disability compensation? please discuss. thank you.

Retro funds
Hello. I am new to this site and I hope someone can shed some light about my va retro funds. I got out of the Army back in April of 2013 with 60% perm disability. I was getting paid 10% from Army and 50% from VA. Then later that year VA sent me a letter to re evaluate my rating and was found 100% VA disabled temporary and still am today. Effective May 1 2014 I was started at my new rating and was awarded 3017.60 but funds were being withheld because of proposed incompetency. From May 1 to dec 1 of 2014, $1721.60 was withheld than adjusted cost of living bumped my entitlement to 3068.90 and 1759.90 was being withheld until February 1, 2015. I got a letter from the VA hub i…

Grade Determination Hearing
Don't know if this is the right thread, however I've searched and can't find anything about this topic and I have a question. I'm medically retiring soon. I was demoted a year ago (I deserved it) and they are offering a grade determination hearing. Does anyone know if this affects the compensation as far as money goes? Or will this just be an ID card/paperwork sort of deal. And if anyone has been through this Id appreciate anything you've got as nobody seems to have any answers on this. Thank you in advance.

my aching feet
when i first enlisted in the army in 1974, my entrance physical indicated i had no physical problems with my feet. when i got to my permanent duty station, there was a requirement that women wear heels with their uniforms. i did but shortly thereafter, i fell down two flights of stairs (broken at the first landing) and injured my back. i had caught the rung of my heel on a step and tumbled. shortly, after, starting to experience pain in my feet, i went to sick call. the doc looked at my feet and indicated i had several problems, the worst being very high arches. i was given inserts for my shoes and issued a permanent profile that i wear only low quarters with …

Va Dental Eligibility For 0% Means Dental From Va
The loss of teeth by themselves are not ratable since they are not truly disabling and are easily replaced by false teeth. Teeth also cannot be rated if they are lost from naturally occurring diseases related to ageing. They must be lost as a result of injury, accident, or diseases such as osteomyelitis. If the loss of teeth is caused by part of either the maxilla or mandible missing, then it can either be rated under the following code or under the codes for the missing maxilla or mandible, whichever code provides the higher rating. If not enough of the mandible or maxilla is missing to qualify for a rating under their codes, then the condition is simply rated here. The…
