Wow
I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I just spent over an hour on the phone with my VARO, this time - they called me. They are trying to finish up the BVA remands and one of the issues is dependent compensation that was correctly applied for (in 1981) but was denied and has remained denied throughout all the times I have appealed the denial. The VARO guy went thru my file while we were on the phone and tabbed all the evidence we discussed - he stated this is definitely a "CUE" on the VARO's side and he stated he is taking it to a DRO right now to see how this can be rectified in the quickest way. He said he is working there today until 5:00pm and will call…

ptsd Frustrated & Confused - Possible Triggers
I don't know if I can keep doing this. I am to the point that I am questioning myself as to why I am even going through this process. I have had an open claim for PTSD/MST since September 2010 (my first claim). I have my diagnosis for PTSD and am currently in treatment. I came to the VA when I hit absolute bottom and almost ended my life for the second time since my discharge. I had been heavily drinking for the last ten years and began treatment through SATP right away and am proud to say that I have been sober since September 28, 2010. With my new found sobriety, I am actually having to process things that I would rather forget. I am struggling with my PTSD treatment…

ptsd Military Retirees =Please Read
Over the years I have posted links here to CRDP and CRSC but under a search, the most important stuff doesn't always come up. The search holds some discussion on these benefits but here is ,hopefully ,a better overview: CRDP Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay: This is an automatic benefit for these retirees: “Concurrent Receipt Eligibility To qualify for concurrent receipt you must: Be a Military Retiree with 20 or more years of service, including: Chapter 61 Medical Retirees with 20 years or more. National Guard and Reserve with 20 or more good years. (Once they turn 60 and begin drawing a retirement check) Temporary Early Retirement Authority (TER…

tdiu Bva Decision
After 3 years at the BVA, I finally received an answer back. The BVA has remanded it back to my RO. The BVA wants the RO to determine if I am eligible for TDIU. I have been disabled since Jan 06 due to my heart attack. I am SC at 0%. I don’t understand this. The BVA also wants me to have another stress test for my heart. Of course, they also say “under no circumstances should the health of the veteran be placed at peril to perform a test.” Six years ago the VA cardiologist prescribed medication to help control my heart problems. Do they want me to stop taking my medication so my heart problems will re-occur so I can fail the stress test. I don’t understand this at all.…

Secondary To Asymptomatic Or 0% Rated Disease
I served on the ground in Vietnam in 1967 & 1968. I currently have asymptomatic/smoldering Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is one of the diseases listed on the agent orange presumptive list. In reviewing the VA Rating Schedule it appears that anyone with a service connected disease considered to be asymptomatic is rated at 0% service connected. I have been having problems with neuropathy in my extremities for several years which is gradually progressing. My local orthopaedic spine specialist recently conducted several diagnostic tests and concluded that my neuropathy was not caused by spinal stenosis or other orthopaedic problems. I was referred to my local…
