  1. If you have access to your online Medical at Myhealth, check info in your medical records as far as SC%, mine updated when claim was completed. Also, when your claim shows as completed, look for the "download of letters", and there is a summary of benefits letter, that will show what current rating is and if you get 100% in any way, you should have commissary letter as well. I got all that, before I got BBE!! Congrats....I hope you get everything you derserve and all you want!! All the best to you and your family!! Greg
  2. CONGRATULATIONS....!! All the best to you and your family....Well Done!! GREG
  3. Also, check the "Download Letters" part of ebenefits. There is a Summary of Benefits letter along with other letters that will pertain to your level of benefits according to your rating. That's how I initially found out the breakdown of my new rating to include if new rating was PT. That showed up for me as soon as they completed my claim, and a few days before I received BBE. Just a thought!! All the best, and congrats on rating!!
  4. I also agree with 63SIERRA, that other than lip service the VSO probably didn't do much for you or your claim. Send the lawyer a check!!
  5. If the Attorney was retained by you and did the work on the claim...then "YES", they should be paid. My only question is, the VA considers 20% of any retro to be appropriate payment. Does your friend have a separate agreement with the lawyer for a higher amount? If so, and they did the work, then pay what you agreed to. Everything I have read though on this site and the VA site is: 20% of retro award is the normal payment. If anyone has any different info on this then please correct what I have said. Best wishes to you for a speedy decision, and good health!!
  6. Devens is now a Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA), now.
  7. Welcome Bob...All the best to you and your family!!
  8. April 10, 2014 was my last update. I called an 800 number I found on Myhealth vet and they made out a ticket to have the good folks in IT try to find out what's going on. Hope they get it fixed soon, I would love to see my notes. Have fun...all!!
  9. Thank you ALL..for the kind words.... I checked ebennies today and my claim completed. I downloaded commissary letters and it stated on the letter..."This TOTAL disability is considered PERMANENT. You are NOT scheduled for future exams." YIPEEEEEEEE!! Does anyone know if I will still have to fill out income sheet each year when this is considered TP? GREG
  10. On March 11, I was rated for 70% PTSD--30%IHD--10%Tinnitus, 80% SC. After that award I lost my job for reasons related to my PTSD. On March 24, I filed a FDC seeking an increase in PTSD rating and or IU, when I filed for increase I included the forms, completed and signed, from my employer for the last 5 years that are required for IU consideration. The VA determined that I did not need another C&P as I had one for the earlier claim on Feb 18, 2014 My claim went to "Prep for Decision", on April 24 Today my Rep called me, and said I had been awarded 100%SC for PTSD.!! I don't know how this breaks down as far as if it is IU-TDIU-TP, or any other combination. As soon as I get this info I will post it. I am shocked at how quickly this got through. I am really happy that we sent ALL the employer information with the claim. I guess it pays to send what is needed to help them make a decision... I thank everyone for all of the advice, and support!! I want to especially thank VELDRINA for her friendship, advice, support, and help in making me understand the process better, and Veldrina gave me a shoulder to cry on when I needed it the most!! Thank you Veldrina!! YOU ARE THE BEST!! Thank you EVERYONE!! So...YIPPEEEEEE I wish everyone the best in every way. I pray everyone gets good decisions...I will be on this forum every day learning, and trying to be as supportive to you as you have been to me!! Now its time to celebrate!!!!! GREG

Take Care my friend....we NEED you on this forum. Now....enjoy!! Greg
  12. Berta: Thank you for your reply. sometimes I get ahead of myself and word things wrong...I have a 14 year history with the VA, medically and for psychiatric. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2003, and my IHD was awarded in 2011. My VA psychiatrist, my VA pcp, and my VA Cardiologist have all made it a matter of record that they are related and how it affects my ability to work. I am currently in counseling, groups and 1 on 1s for the ptsd. What I and my VA Cardiologist are concerned with is how the symptoms of the ptsd are aggravating my SC IHD. Of course my VA doctors are looking at other things that would cause the shortness of breath and chest pains especially when I go I into full panic mode. In short, all of my VA doctors have made it clear to me that all this is tied together, which all have made part of my VA record, and they are all in unanimous agreement that that the ptsd, ihd and the combined affects, prevent me from working. Berta...thank you for all you do and I always look for your posts, as they are always supportive and informative. I wish you all the best!! Greg So my VA drs, all three have made the connection and all have to put it simply, said,"YOU CAN'T WORK", and my VA medical records indicate that.
  13. Looking for some clarification. I am currently 80% SC, and I have filed a claim for an increase/tdiu. I understand that if I am increased to 100% sc I would get commissary privileges. If they keep me at 80% , but approve tdiu for me, would I get commissary privileges? I am currently, 70%ptsd, 30%ihd, and 10% tinnittus. I am seeking an increase to 100% ptsd tp or tdiu. I am unemployed and my pcp says ptsd issues prevent employment. So I think I have strong case for 100% tp, but VA being VA, may just give tdiu. Any advice would be appreciated.
  14. Congratulations on your win....well done!! Well deserved!!!
  15. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! WELL DONE AND WELL DERSERVED. .....

  18. Just got the word from my rep: Awarded 70% ptsd Awarded 10% tinnittus Already 30% IHD Total SC..80% Filed claim on 24 October 2013 C&P on 18 February 2014 Completed...Today Now I will wait for brown envelope, retro pay, and then work on IU or TDIU or see if I can 100% scheduler. Anyway, im excited and happy the wait is over and I think it all progressed in a very timely way. I am grateful for that. I thank all of you for your encouragement and support. I wish all the best and God speed to all of you and praying for success with all of your claims. Greg
  19.
