In Massachusetts you just need to be a Veteran, not necessarily a SC Veteran to get into one of these homes. In the area that I live, they will charge 30% of any income that you currently have. When I first moved to Massachusetts, I lived in a Veterans Home such as you are talking about and this was before I was SC. According to Veterans that I know that are currently living in the Veteran Home, it has not changed. I am sure every area is a little different, so check with a V.A.
