  1. Actually if you explain ChampVa program to the docs and tell them they are the fastest paying company.

You can call Champ VA an they will send you the forms needed to set the Docs up as a payee.

You can email him at Glen.Johnson@va.gov   or call him at  303-331-7864

He will send you the information to assist, he is one heck of a nice guy.

  2. As long as you changed your address with the VA when you moved you will be ok, If you did not then you are going to have to fight. Cases like this make it to the higher levels and the Judges agree with the VA. The VA says they mail it and the Judge says the mail is never wrong.  That is why we keep copies of everything because of the little up chucks like this. The VA loves to antagonize a veteran.

Did you inform the VA you had moved?

We all have a responsibility to keep the VA informed if we move. They can be vicious.

You will have to ask for a hearing and find out where these notifications went to.

  3. Hypothetically speaking of course, Perhaps a Veteran has a service connected rating of 80 percent. This means his rating falls between 74.5 and 84.4 percent. so we know that 80 from 100 is 20 so he is 20 percent sound. So inorder to get 100 out of a 20 percent rating one must look at each.

10 will only get you 2 percent

20 will only get you 4 percent

so you need 80 percent to get 16 or 96 percent.

Va math as well as many other things part of the VA are a complete crock of Bull.

  4. Here is the guy over 300 percent. What is the big deal. RuReady asked an honest question.  Hadit is veterans helping veterans. If you want to get chippy about there are other sites that allow its members to nit pick each other, Guess what. We don't do that here. You are free to venture to other sites. Lets keep our post civil and if you dont like a topic or post, Ignore the topic and lets move on.

    Hey jBasser,

I am service connected for hypertension, and my chronic kidney disease is pending DRO hearing, already done a C & P for kidney, and examiner did state that my hypertension more likely cause my CKD.

But what I am not understanding is, how do I tie my Cardiomegaly or enlarge heart, that was noted at a VAMC colon exam in 2011 into my claim during my DRO hearing in about 3 wks, I could not find anything of secondary to connect it to.

    Your Thoughts

Palma, Your High Blood Pressure has already had effects on your kidneys. Your heart works like this.

It is a 4 chambered pump that pumps continuous at 50 to 80 beats per minute (AVG). This pump never stops. something causes the piping system to constrict of slow the flow so your pump starts to work harder. The harder the work the higher the blood pressure. left uncontrolled the heart is in workout mode being the muscle it is, it grows bigger and thicker. The pressure is still there so the receiving end of the pump has too much pressure and that would be the kidneys and your other organs. It then flows back through the system and if untreated the pump fails and just starts to flap uncontrollably resulting in congestive heart failure.

What I have questions about is this issue. Who is treating your BP issues. How did they find out about the Kidneys? Didn't they even mention the Heart? You need to ask them straight up to check your heart and if you can get outside of the VA for an opinion by George do so.  I don't like the path the VA is taking you down. The Xray evidence of the enlarged heart and a report showing cardiomegaly is all you need to file a claim.

    Hang in there.

  6. Looks like it could be a cue using the following rule. Title 38 cfr 3.156C Missing Service Department Records.

Any denial will state the evidence used to make that denial in the reasons and basis of the denial. If these records are not mentioned then they were not there ti be considered. This is new and material also. he can file a cue claim asap.

  7. The main reason I asked you is the following. It is obvious that you have had uncontrolled Systolic HTN for years. That is not too good for the heart. You need a chest Xray to see if You have an enlarged heart. ( You may have already have had it done). That is Hypertensive heart disease.  That rating also carries a separate Hypertension rating in the rear so if you are already service connected for the heart and they are not connecting the Hypertension you also have an in process cue. If you have not had your heart checked, do so asap. This will change the entire aspect of your claim.

    Good Luck

  8. Texas marine is on to something here. SSDI has a wounded warrior program that gives 100 percent P and T vets advanced decisions only and does not have any effect on their decisions. We did a show on this subject a few weeks ago. Now show them your information and pay close attention to the P and T issues.

You should be OK but I know one Hadit Member who is now in the fight of his life.

I think we all should contact our congressional folks and ask them to bring the VA and SSA into compliance as these two disability systems have different criteria for total disability and one is openly allowed to discriminate against a person based on age. If you are under 50 the SSA doesn't consider advanced age. and 50 to 53 is advanced age.

  9. This died and never bacame law. SSA has adopted a wounder warrior program that only speeds up the process.

The SSA has their own 5 step process and Congress needs to fix it for Veterans. How can 2 disability systems from 1 government have different criteria.

If you are IU from the VA you should be receiving SSDI if you paid into the system.

  10. Jimmer, I was diagnosed with left phrenic nerve paralysis several years ago. It is service connected. All you need to do is to have a doctor nexus that paralysis with an event in service. Some tests that are included are as follows. An elevated diaphragm on xray, a positive sniff test under live xray. An EMG into the actual diaphragm should have been done. It is a very painful test but it is necessary.

Some things to look out for as condition continues are. Scoliosis caused by the raised Diaphragm.  Pulmonary Hypertension because the heat is pumping blood into a paralyzed lung.

This issue is a serious one so keep on top of it. It should be service connected.
