  1. Although it is great to have the C&P examiner opine in your favor, they don't rate you or make the ultimate decision. If it was a VA Dr. or NP, the records will show up on my heal the vet under the notes section within a few days (sometimes takes a couple weeks). Best wishes for you. Green
  2. I had my authentication done at a VA medical center and I think access was immediate. My ID card took less than a week to receive.
  3. I also found this interesting. I know it's supposed to be computer generated based on similar claims but I hope it is accurate for mine. It shows an estimated completion date range from tomorrow the 7th to Friday the 8th.
  4. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if it goes back to gathering evidence (would disappoint me though). I'm at day 260 for my FDC and it has been though all the eBenefit stages several times. Still I'm hopeful that this is the end as I thought my claim was straight forward and well documented and the C&P examiner said the same thing. the PN in my feet and another issue were claimed in my 1993 claim and were denied. I believe they made a very obvious mistake so I'm wondering if that isn't part of the delay.
  5. I'm waiting for a bunch of secondary conditions to be rated: Peripheral Neuropathy (hands and feet) Autonomic Neuropathy Diabetic Retinopathy and a couple others
  6. You can't assume that all records are contained within your C-File. If they are looking for old medical records for instance they may have to go to the archive to get them. It took the VA working my claim two tries and 15 weeks to get the medical records they wanted (1983 - 1993) from a VA medical center.
  7. Thought I'd mention that my status changed today to Prep for Notification. The last time it was in this stage was 11/14/15 after which it went back to gathering evidence. Hoping for a positive outcome.
  8. Very interesting discussion. I couldn't help but think about SMC-S. So if all your disabilities are considered in your request for TDIU, I'm guessing that in itself would preclude consideration for SMC-S? However if you have a single or two disabilities which in and of themselves qualify you for TDIU, the VA would have to consider the remaining issues in order to reach the 60% requirement (I'm thinking anyway).
  9. I had a nurse practitioner complete my C&P exams and the records show both her signature and the head of administrative medicine's signature.
  10. eBenefits is not accurate and the information it provides is rudimentary at best. If you try to assign logic to your status, which in many cases ping-pongs without providing any meaningful reason why, you will go bonkers.
  11. It's not just you, eBenefits is having problems.
  12. So, I applied for peripheral neuropathy in my feet back in 1994 (secondary to diabetes). I was denied saying there was no evidence to support my claim (there was). Recently I was looking through M-21 and found the following criteria for rating peripheral neuropathy. If this is in fact true, I should have been rated at least at the "mild" level. I am currently waiting on a FDC I submitted 8+ months ago to be decided. I once again applied for peripheral neuropathy and submitted doctor notes from a private neurologist and an EMG (EMG shows both sensory and motor issues in all four limbs). My C&P noted at least as likely as not and stated each limb was "moderate". Legs can be rated mild, moderate, moderately severe, or severe for incomplete paralysis. I have objective proof as well as notes saying I have no reflexes in my arms or legs, weakness, trophic changes, etc. It will be interesting to see how I'm rated and if they do anything regarding the 1994 denial. If the level of incomplete paralysis regarding peripheral nerves is… Then the evidence will indicate the following criteria... Mild subjective symptoms, and/or decreased sensation. Moderate absence of sensation confirmed by objective findings. Severe more than sensory findings are demonstrated, such as atrophy, weakness, diminished reflexes, and so on.
  13. So I emailed a contact at the Regional Office who checked on the status of my claim. He said that it was currently receiving a "Rating Correction" or RC. He went on to explain that my claim was decided, went through a quality review team, and they "found something that was incorrect" so they sent it back. I was told that once this issue was corrected my claim would be finalized. Learn something new every day.....
  14. I've never seen this before, looked at eBenefits and although the status hasn't changed (still in prep for decision) there was a strange little orange arrow icon that says "Attention: Has changed status" Anyone else seeing this? The estimated completion date range did change from "4/9/16 - 5/15/16" to "5/1/16 - 6/7/16" Compensation Preparation For Decision Attention: Status Has Changed Status Has Changed Attention: Development Letter Sent Development Letter Sent Upload Documents
  15. N4L, if you click on the question mark it states that the estimated completion date is based on statistical analysis of how long it took similar claims in the same stage to close. That being said, a 5 day window seems strangely precise.
  16. That is a hard one N4L, I don't really have a feeling of how it will rate. Guessing your entire package will be researched to help the RO rater come to a rating decision.
  17. Meddac, I sincerely appreciate the information.
  18. I understand Gastone, and I appreciate your words of caution, I'm not counting my chickens before the eggs hatch but I am a pretty positive guy. I learned a number of years ago that being well prepared and choosing to believe and expect a positive outcome equals less wear and tear on my noggin.
  19. I just thought it was strange that they are waiting for an authorizing signature, not an approver? brokensoldier, I don't have a VSO, did this FDC for secondary conditions on my own (after learning much from hadit members). broncovet, that is unacceptable, they should clear the backlog first. Buck, thanks, appreciate your well wishes.
  20. As of today I am at day 247 for my FDC, I sent an update request from IRIS and received the following. Only thing I don't really understand is the "waiting for approval by a VA authorizer"? Thank you for your service to our country. We apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. We are currently experiencing a large volume of inquiries and are working as quickly as possible to respond to each in a timely manner. Your claim is currently in the final stages waiting for approval by a VA authorizer. Your claim's status may change if additional information is required. At this time, it is estimated that your claim should be completed by May 16, 2016. Please understand that this date is an estimate and that your claim may take longer based on the specifics of your claim and VA's pending workload. Thank you for contacting us. If you have questions or need additional help with the information in our reply, please respond to this message or see our other contact information below. Sincerely yours,
  21. Mine have taken 7 to 30 days to show up on ebenefits.
  22. James, whatever happened with the VA looking back to your original rating to be sure they had everything rated correctly? I would make sure you have a copy of your current C-File and comb it for any previous errors they refused to acknowledge or correct. I am not a conspiracist but believe we should know the details rather than simply trusting the VA.
