  1. I know my doctor ordered an orthopedic pillow for my shoulder tear. they mailed it to my house.
  2. depends on which one you have and if the VA tracks you or not. Now as far as I know they do not share this with the area that does the decision making. Mine stopped transmitting a year ago and no one has said anything to me.
  3. So I got an email from the regional office for my appeal. We are now at 1 year and 6 months in. They sent to me for a video appointment, but did not even look to see that I had declined and only wanted to get a decision. They said they removed the video appointment now and said they sent it to the Law judge for a decision(this is just for a EED). I was told I could work with a VSO to do a pre-decision brief. Does anyone have an idea of how long I have to do this? Or do I even need too? This claim is the left over from Berry Law Firm as they won a higher PTSD rating but they moved up the date to 2021 and not 2013 when the claim was filed. I think they already put in everything I needed as they submited it on my behalf. Thoughts?
  4. have you gotten a confirmation that his has been accepted? The sites are very unreliable. Also, in the past it has taken a year or more to get accepted I would call your VSO and ask and update on it to see where it is at
  5. I know for me; I did not have all the doctors' things that I needed. I would file the claim The VA has a duty to assist you. Depending on when you served and where you want there are records. You will want to use Lay statements and Buddy statements These will come from you or friends in the military who saw your issues and can be your SO There is no harm in filing a claim, but some are harder than others The longer you wait the longer the VA does not need to pay you You would also be surprised what is in your medical records from your time in service
  6. You laugh about this, but this can cause veterans to lose their benefits by not showing up. You can fight whatever you want too as that is your right and anyone who wants to fight it. I do agree there are a ton of unnecessary exams. There is always something you can do. The advice given is to go to the exam as to not fall into the pitfall of losing the benefits. Will this happen? I have myself lost benefits because I did not show up. It caused a lot of headaches I am now paying for. There are other ways to fight a C&P exam other than skipping it.
  7. that is awesome. I am glad some people are having some luck
  8. Something sounds off here. So you have already been to the BVA? Now you are back? Mine took about 6-8 months to get to a Judge is reviewing your appeal phase. Now I am 18 months into waiting for the judge to clean off his desk and find my case.
  9. It is a direct review. I think it was 4 months
  10. I am at 550 days waiting on a decision. mine is or EEF date also. Should not be this hard!
  11. remember it is good to have A cheat meal a week. just to keep yourslef sane and to trick your body. It is working for me, but do what works for you!
  12. I would for sure file for it. Most of these things do go hand in hand. I have totally changed the way I eat. No sugar and under 100 carbs per day. Let me tell you it is not easy. I love sweets, but they had me on the path of having many more health problems. I have lost over 30lbs in 45 days and working on another 30. I know I am lucky to be able to do this. Keep on fighting!
  13. First have you filed for GERD? If you are already service connected for a mood disorder then you should go for the increase. I am not sure you will get anywhere with filing taking Paxil for it as it will go right back to the mood disorder. Someone else can chime in here.
  14. First off, I am sorry these medicaiton lead to this. I would say file away. If a medication the VA gives you can cause issues and if they do then you can claim against them. Let me know how this turn out as I am prediabetic.
  15. For mine I decided to write a bunch of lay statements. talking about what happened, so I did not have to relive it infront of them and not remember half of it. I then gave them a copy and then uploaded it to VA site. This did work for me as when I was in there the doctor read over them as I tried to keep it cronilogical. He asked a few other questions, but I let him know I did not want to think about those events. He respected this and kept the other questions as general as possible. That is just what I did and it worked for me.
  16. I have used them in the past. They still made me do a C&P exam and they added wieght. I think they could be.
  17. I thought you could not get SSDI and still be working?
  18. My wife is on CHAMPVA with the suplimental and she loves it. I think we pay the small fee each month for the supplimental, but then they send us checks for everything byond the $300 payment. She just had a $7000 procedure and we paid the $300 and now they are sending her checks for any meds or anything they are not just paying for.
  19. My wife is on CHAMPVA. If I did pass, would she still be able to get this benefit?
  20. Did you apply for SMC-S? Not sure if you qualify, but it looks like you could.
  21. I go to the VA hospital very often and our Comp&pen office used to have 5 people working there. I make it a point to walk by every time I am there to check. Take in mind this my VA in Omaha and others could be different. We have 1 person who works there now. It was the original C&P officer who started my exams. I am not sure where you are getting the information that they have all of these people still at the VA. I am not sure how 1 person is supposed to do the work of 6. I am going off of my own experiences at my local VA. Others could be different, but from my military buddies I have heard they are very limited. Also if you want to fight the VA on going to a C&P then that is your choice Is it a fight to have? If you want to fight it, then do what you feel to be right. I do agree it is crap when they have multiple C&P's and they go for another for no apparent reason. I don't have the energy to fight that fight. I do hope you have good outcomes from this.
