  1. "Bummed out", bad feeling. My most positive thoughts are with you.
  2. Thanks for the update, 'Omg-Sue'. Keep up the good work. Very glad for you & your family. Cmdr. Bob
  3. "... Ratings are based on the loss of income they may cause." You nailed it pr... Therein lies the flaw in the cornerstone of the VA disability rating system. Laid down many generations ago... jmho...The VA's draconian approach to disability rating leaves the "quality of life" issues in the dust. Only when Congress acknowledges the true "loss of quality of life" that accompanies loss of income, will the problems that you have stated, 'SP4RVN1971', be addressed, and some relief be found. Until then, our best chance of finding justice for our sacrifice on behalf our civilian countrymen, is to keep breathing... Best wishes, C.B.
  4. Sorry to hear about your house. My most positive thoughts are with you for a brighter future. There are other benefits you may be eligible for... here is something for autos. "Up to two motor vehicles are exempt from property tax for prisoners of war, disabled veterans, Medal of Honor recipients and people required to use wheelchairs. Application should be made through the South Carolina Department of Revenue. Call (803) 898-5480 for information."
  5. South Carolina: For certain military veterans, veterans killed in the line of duty, paraplegics and hemiplegics A house and up to one acre of land on which the house is located is exempt from property tax for veterans who are totally disabled from a service-related disability or the surviving spouse, for the surviving spouse of a military person killed in the line of duty, and for paraplegics, hemiplegics or their surviving spouses. Application should be made through the South Carolina Department of Revenue. Call (803) 898-5480 for information. http://www.sctax.org/publications/propguid99.html

  16. Ha... I'm glad you got a good laugh 'Chuck75'. I did too after I re-read your post. When I first read your previous post, I thought "Way to go Chuck!!"... I was thrown off by the enclosed quote you had posted with your reply... Congratulations on the Grand kids. My congratulations to 'brokensoldier244th', on the 2008 birth of your daughter. 18. Excuse me for getting off topic... Congratulations 'Chuck75'. Cmdr. Bob
  19. I hope your right Pete. I would like to think so too. C.B.
  20. "sticks in my throat" too, John. I agree "Why treat one group of vets differently from another?" i have tried to reason this through...??? Public Law 111-163 (the Caregivers Act)., is a slap in the face to older qualified veterans. It discriminates against a generation of veterans that have been kicked to the curb for decades already. I especially find the stipend clause, offense to vets from all wars... What were they (Congress) thinking? This goes beyond reasoning. Who will speak for those too sick and old to speak up for themselves? I am reminded of the movie Soylent Green; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_Green
