  1. If he lives in Va beach I know somewhere he can go for help, its called Vetshouse, they give Vets a place to stay until they get back on their feet.
  2. Deviant, I wish I can say that the VA will expedite your claim due to harship just in time to avoid eviction but that probably won't happen. I will say to you that I've been right where you are now, things getting bad and waiting on a claim to give me some breathing room to get back on my feet. I was told by the VA when I went to them and asked for help, that I was not homeless unless I'd been homeless for thirty days; also that if I was on drugs or an alcoholic they could admit me for detox for a few days but that was it. I ended up sleeping in my car trying to keep my job which I eventually lost. I was eventually awarded my claim about six weeks later, which helped me get back on my feet and into an apartment. I was ignorant to the resources out there back then. My advice to you is try to get to the nearest Vet Center in your area they are great and will do all they can to help you, both mentally and physically. Swallow your pride and and apply for the services that it seems you are eligible for i.e. food stamps, SSI, SSD, the food stamps will keep you eating, while you wait for your claim to come through. Some states offer Vets a one time payment of rent to avoid eviction, you can find that out at your local DHS office or the Vet Center or DAV. Today I am IU and am able to pay my child support and my bills with a little left over, it can and does get better I'm here as proof of that. Take advantage of this site it is great and the people here are just like you, so we understand. Hope this helps God bless and hang in there. doc/
  3. Angelo are you saying that if you are rated over 70% and apply for ssdi you are automatic?
  4. Thanks Pete I'm clear now yes my award was this past August so I have time to file a reconsideration and still maintain the time to file a NOD. Babyray I'm IU, so the goal I'm trying to reach is P&T. I currently have a future exam scheduled for August of 2011. thanks all
  5. You guys are saying that I can file a reconsideration and a NOD later or if I file a reconsideration I forfeit filing a NOD.
  6. thanks babyray I will file reconsideration by the end of the week.
  7. can you post the findings and reasons for denial blackout your personal information.
  8. Not to be gross but we would use diesel fuel to burnout the latrines when we were in the field, usually two guys stirring and keeping it burning.
  9. Do you know the form for reconsideration?
  10. I will be submitting a letter from vocRehab saying I'm infeasible after this semester. thanks If it does not work out I hope to have the award from SSD maybe I can have that by the time I need a NOD. Thanks
  11. congrats on your win hope it doesn't take too long til you get the back pay.
  12. I was 30% SC for depression and was bumped up to 70%, secondary to chronic knee pain.
  13. how soon after your award did you appeal, and how long did it take to get it? thanks
  14. Does anyone know of an IMO doc in OK, preferably Tulsa. What is the going rate for IMO's?
  15. Sans electrodes I will be filing for ED on monday. thankd for all the comments they were helpful and entertaining.
  16. For one it opens up the opportunity for your dependents to get chap 35 education benefits, as well as health care coverage thorough CHAMPVA.
  17. A little background on me, I'm currently rated 80% IU with 10 % for r knee and 70% depression 10% tinnitis. I have not worked since June of 08. I would like to get to P&T whether by IU or schedular. I have four chldren who I would like to see taken care of as my illnesses worsen. I would like to file for P&T based on a coming VocRehab infeasibility letter after this semester. I have evidence of high blood pressure in my SMR and it has worsened over the years. I have a sleep study coming up at the end of the month. My questions are should I bundle all my claims together including P&T request? Should I file P&T separately from my other claims? should I wait until my sleep study to file both high blood pressure and sleep apnea? Thanks for your advice and support as always. I should also add that I have applied for SSD and my first exam is next month. doc
  18. Wow that was funny pr you had me having second thoughts lol.
  19. I think I can handle that, thought they stuck something in the penis, don't want to go there. The fact that I take Levitra is not enough or that my meds are known to have sexual side effects is not enough, well looks like I'll get the ball rolling Monday with my VSO. Thanks
  20. So its not rated at say zero percent or 10 percent? Seriously they test you for it? The VA does not have Viagra on in their formulary so they RX'd Levitra which is four pills a month.
  21. Thank you. I have not yet put a claim in for my high blood pressure but I am 70% SC for psych and take multiple meds.
  22. I am considering filing a claim for ED due to blood pressure meds and psych meds. I was wondering what the percentage is or is it like hearing rated at zero percent unless you are totally deaf. thanks in advance for your help.
