  1. I will take your advice and take the award letter to the SSA office monday dark thanks.
  2. I would much rather a COLA increase rather than a one time check for $250 since it COLA would be monthly that makes it a no brainer.
  3. Lets do it spread the word "VETS NEED COLA TOO" campaign have Tbird send out emails to everyone. The price we paid for freedom should mean something.
  4. I wonder if we all wrote our elected officials, if it would put pressure on the VA to do the right thing.
  5. That is exactly why i'm asking the question about P&T. I have a young one starting college and will have two that will be there the same time; I think for my family this is the right way to go. I guess I'm wondering if high blood pressure and sleep apnea will get me there versus just asking for P&T. To answer darkhorse's question no I did not include the IU award letter in my SSD claim I figured they will get it from the VA since I signed medical release forms.
  6. Is there a waiting period that I have to wait?
  7. Thats one of my questions what would the appropriate time be to wait?
  8. Let me start with a little background information, I am currently rated 80% with IU. My sc are 70% depression, 10% right knee, 10% tinnitis. This increase for IU was just recent in August. The last few months my blood pressure has been out of control and The docs have increased my meds but I still have pitting edema in both legs and run about 150/90 with the med increase. My psych doc has asked if I have ever been tested for sleep apnea since I complain of lack of sleep, chronic fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. I've had to drop out of Voc Rehab due to these symptoms. My vocrehab counselor is calling me infeasible. My questions are: Should I just apply for P&T? I've applied for SSD and am waiting to hear back should I wait for this before applying for P&T Should I apply for high blood pressure first then sleep apnea? Should I wait to be tested for sleep apnea first before filing for high blood pressure? Thanks in advance for all of your help.
  9. congrats subvet, another win keep em coming.
  10. I just started taking it so I will let you know, I know it dropped me b/p too low already once. They also use it for anger management too.
  11. I bet the DAV will have their hand out when he wins his case, way to fight them with facts Carlie.
  12. I'm sure I have high blood pressures in my SMR, how would I claim this secondary to sleep apnea if I've never been diagnosed to date. If I am diagnosed would this be a stretch to file a claim with the VA? thanks
  13. So sleep apnea is related to HTN, I have high blood pressure but have not filed a claim, my girlfriend tells me all the time that I stop breathing in my sleep.
  14. I have a heart murmur and I tell the dentist before they do any work on me, they give me a bunch of antibiotics. I take three days before a visit for even a teeth cleaning and finish the doses an hour before treatment. This is supposed to prevent that from happening. My prayers go out to you and your wife tag.
  15. This decision seems to me to state that P&T is presumptive for TDIU, and it should be awarded back to the eed of the TDIU for chap35 benefits? Can you tell me if I'm understanding this correctly?
  16. I was not able to use this link can you repost thanks.
  17. can this case also be applied to P&T as it relates to voc rehab saying you're infeasible. hmmm.
  18. Are the appointments like going to QTC docs or will I have to pay out of pocket?
  19. this is pretty common among statins and can be a serious sign of other major organs reacting to the drug. You should check with your PCP immediately. There is also a class action lawsuit against the makers of these drugs.
  20. It depends sometimes the money hits the bank before you get the award letter, that has happened to me once, the most recent time it was the other way; I received the award letter explaining benefits and the money came about a week later. Good luck and congrats.
