"INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE RELEASES LATEST REPORT
ON VETERANS AND AGENT ORANGE -- Says AO exposure
may boost hypertension and heart disease, but committee
divided on some cancer risks. Read full report"
the full report is at Watchdog- have not had time to read it yet-
I would think that heart disease will be on the AO list in our lifetime----
although many disabilities might never be associted to AO- that list sure has grown in the past 2 decades-
It would be very good news but very costly for VA to have heart disease on the AO list-
too many veterans are dying due to heart disease- vets who servied in Vietnam-
somewthing is the reason for that-
the VA does not like to consider how PTSD can have a pronounced affect on HBP and heart disease-
vets can had heart disease SCed to their PTSD -with IMos that contain full medical rational-
I feel a Nam vet with PTSD and heart disease should raise both issues as heart from PTSD as secondary and also heart disease as due to Agent Orange.
The Nehmer decision will more then likely (after another NVLSP battle with VA like the CLL issue) provide retro under Nehmer to any vet -IF the VA ever adds CAD to the AO list)
if they were denied for CAD due to service in almost any past decision-
depends on when they got the denial.
GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !
When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief
Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was
simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."
Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
