I think that COngress thinks that Service Organizations speak for Veterans when the fact is the VA empowered SO's to speak for the VA. Yeah they put on a dog and pony show when the new legislators come to town but how much do they really represent us

I use to think that if the VA completely finished claims in 6 months then why is mine taking so many years. I thought there must be something personal that the VA should drag my claim out so long, and that the VA must have a personal vendetta against me for some reason.

I just didn't know that the VA spin was nothing more than BS and that most claims take the longest time to finish.

When the VSO's hide behind the VA spin they don't think that a vet will pursue their claim. It is only a matter of time before the VSO is found out, on an individual vets claims, and then these VSO's are tossed aside as irrelevant.

This kind of VA spin doesn't only hurt the Veteran, on an individual level, but it is truely criminal. Dr. Katz, was a glaring example of how the VA spin tries to hush up actual facts when he said sshhhhhh.

Dr. Datz was saying that if certain facts are released, from the VA, then the VA would be shooting down its own spin... So sshhhhh. It didn't take long for me to realize that the "VA sshhhhh Policy" has been going on many years before I became aware of it.

I think they get away with the lies because congress and the Prez are focused on getting bills through and pleasing special interests. Veterans do not speak with one voice. They do not send lobbyist to congress with bags of money. They don't vote as a block. Vets are like hearding cats. The NRA gets what they want because they are focused and have bags of money. Most congressmen are on their payroll. If vets could put the politicians on their payroll we might get something done. The traditional VSO's are useless. We need a PAC that can buy these congressmen. The banks do it. The Drug Companies do it. Wall Street does it. Why can't we?

Money talks and the veterans service officers seem to be in bed with the VA. Where do we turn?

Vets have to organize at the grass roots and put pressure on congressmen. How to go about doing that I don't know since so many vets have such different ideas about the quality of the VA. If congressmen and the Prez got 20 million letters about the VA I think that would be a start. Congress and the Prez respond to mass movement pressue, but it takes a lot of focused outrage to get them to move. They know how to count votes and money.
