Question
Shadowman
I've got a whole piss pot of injuries that I sustained in the military and have minor ratings on them all (20% up to 40%) but I am 100% PTSD. My question is this; I have been asked if I would like to help coach football at the school my son goes to; kind of the assistant to the assistant of the assistant coach! They want to pay me around $3000 over 4 months...something like $750 a month during the football season. Can I get paid? Should I get paid? Do I dare get paid? OR, will the VA come a calling like the big bad wolf and gobble up all of my hard earned 100% and reduce my disablity/take my 100% away? Another issue is that my daughter is in her second year of college and receives monatary assistance for schooling from VA. Now, I don't want to screw the pooch or mess up anything for my kids but I am going to be out there helping and the staff genuinly want me to get paid for all of the help I am providing.
I have been over 20% disabled from VA since 1990, 50% around 2001, unemployable around 2008 and then 100% in June of 2009.
Any advise you can give me will be greatly appreciated!!!
Eric
