Typically, GERD is rated analogous to a hiatal hernia under 38 C.F.R. 4.114 diagnostic code 7346. Ratings under diagnostic code 7346 range from 10 to 60% disabling, and depend on the presence and severity of a variety of symptoms.

Code 7517: Any Injury of the Bladder is rated under this code. 7517 Bladder, injury of:
Rate as voiding dysfunction.

Voiding Dysfunction: All urinary conditions that cannot be rated as urinary frequency or obstructed voiding are rated by this system. If the condition requires the use of a catheter or other urinary assistive appliance to remove urine from the bladder, or if the condition requires the use of absorbent materials (like pads or Depends) that must be changed more than 4 times a day, then it is rated 60%. If it requires absorbent materials that must be changed 2 to 4 times a day, then it is rated 40%. If it requires absorbent materials that must be changed only once a day, then it is rated 20%.

Depending on how the ratings schedulers rate you. If you meet the criteria for the highest rating for both you may be close to a 100% scheduler rating. I went ahead and calculated the highest ratings of 60% for those conditions,if granted + your current SC ratings=94%

All you would need is a 10% rating increase for one of your 0% SC conditions to reach 95% which will round up to 100%.

I do hope they give you the highest ratings. Congrats!!

Thank you! As soon as I receive word, I will post an update. I hope they rate me fairly as well, but after dealing with is appeals process...my faith is very low.

Do you have an update for this?  My appeal just finished after 8 years of waiting.  The packet was mailed out today.  I'm curious how long it took your eBenefits to update?

On ebenifits stated preperation for notification now it says i have no claims open. What does this mean

Check your disabilities list and see if your claimed condition was SERVICE-CONNECTED. If it says not service-connected and your disability rating did not increase then it's likely a denied claim. But, you'll have to wait to get the actual letter. Ebenefits isn't always reliable.

AFMedic 09 Were you diagnosed for GERD while in service, or how did you get S-C? I am interested if anyone has heard of of getting it tied into A-O.

The higher level Reviewer wrote and told me my buddy letters were clear and competent to establish continuation of service connectedinjury, incidents (events) or diseases that occurred in service after finding several duty to assist errors. After having all buddy letters add the certifying statement s to them as requested and sent in I awaited approval. Case is closed now. However, it closed Thursday, April 9th and mailed out April 10th. Today is Sunday, April 12th.

I dont see any changes on ebenefits that reflect 100% rating. Does this mean VA lied and I was denied, after submitting the requested info for approval? I'm awaiting my letter now and watching my bank account for deposit since calling the 800-827-1000 reps say they cant open my letter to tell if an award was granted or rating change. They say nor is their system stating updates since case closed the same day I called on April 9th and case closed. Any answers?
