Discharge Reconsideration PTSD
I separated from active duty service in the Air Force with in 2010 and had undiagnosed non-combat military connected PTSD with alcohol use in remission (According to my VA disability paperwork which puts me at 50% for ptsd.) This was granted the beginning of last year. I recently put in to have my discharge upgraded to honorable from general and have yet to hear back from them. (E-benefits say maybe I'll hear about it early February 2018.) There were a few selfmedicated incidents with alcohol that happened while I was active duty that resulted in going into a civilian rehabilitation facility, a perscription to an antidepressant, and a lot of suicidal ideation I recen…

Unadjudicated claim noted in new claim's denial, CUE?
I was admin separated from the Corps because of bilateral petal femoral pain syndrome. I filed a claim with in one year of my discharge. The VA sat on it for almost a decade, until I submitted another claim, asked about the first one and filed for the exact same issues as the old claim. The only mention of this claim has been in my awards/denial letter. In the awards sections I was told that my effective date was the date of my discharge due to an unadjudicated claim that I submitted with in one year of my discharge. My question about the CUE is that if they are working with that unadjudicated claim that was submitted with in one year of my discharge, isn't every…

How to apply for CRSC
Good afternoon to all, I currently am 100% P&T VA, and Permanent Medically Retired from the Navy as of 2016. I have a few disabilities that were incurred in OEF. How do I go about applying for CRSC? My local VSO helped me apply back in 2014 when I was 80% VA T&P, and Temporary Retired from the Navy. He was not very helpful and one of those Vets that receives 10% disability and does not like to help fellow Vets, even though that is his job. I just want to make sure that I submit it right and proper, with the documentation to support it. Thanks in advance, and wish all of you a Blessed Day.

Apparently approved from 50 - 80% - but....
I filed an appeal and new claim - I received a letter almost two weeks ago with 4 of the new claims all denied with 0%. I did not receive my Appeal letter regarding the other three so I called my VSO and they looked me up and stated that I went from 50% - 80% for my other three issues - one went up to 60% alone retro to 2013. I was rated at a total 50%....my new ones are 60% and two 10% - so apparently 80% + 50% = 80%....anywho...I am happy with this news, however, I called the VA to ask where that letter is and the guy on the phone was super rude, stated that my VSO should have kept his mouth shut as it wasn't finalized yet, blah, blah....I asked if it wasn't finalized…

When should I expect compensation & how much?
See success story here for background: 28 day claim success story Effective dates on all my disabilities are 01 August 2017 (claim submission date), at a combined rating of 90%. Claim was closed out on 29 August 2017. On eBenefits, there is no payment history from the VA as of yet and my bank account agrees! I've received my paper letter from VA with the monthly amount I should expect. Everything aligns between ebenefits and the official letter I received in the mail. My question is, when I should receive compensation, and, if the answer is 01 October, will the amount be 1 month's worth of disability compensation or 2? Thank you!

I received compensation for a cervical spinal injury, but the injury to my lumbar spine was never rated. Should I file a claim for this injury also?

Why you never rely on one opinion!
So, I'm discussing the VA with an associate of mine. He was Air Force, Operation Southern Watch 1996 Kuwait. He comments that he doesn't have VA benefits because he had to get out with a General (under honorable conditions) discharge. He was told this by the local VSO back in 1996-1997. I was shocked that he went all these years believing that he did not qualify for benefits from the VA. The VSO took one look at his discharge papers and said "Can't help you, you don't qualify". Moral of the story.......We are our brother's keeper. If you travel the path, down the rabbit hole if you will, of navigating the maze that is the VA......pay that experience forward and …

Questions on my current claim and outcome
OK first off this is my first post and I know from previous sites I need to get down the proper etiquette on a forum so don't bash me to hard. Second how do I get rid.of all the ads on the site? Anyways my question is i am I. The gathering evidence stage had my c n p a 2 months ago and I was looking at the examiners notes . said direct service connection and the diagnosis was clarification of the adjustment disorder assigned in service. I started obsessing over my claim like of most of us all do and as I was fumbling through my records I saw records before I was in the army for mental health showing I had an adjustment disorder. I was on tricare being an army brat so I g…

Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea with an abnormally high Epworth Sleepiness Score
Hello fellow vets! I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea (the VA considered as mild), but they also said that my Epworth Sleepiness score was higher than expected. I'm always tired, and I have trouble staying awake whenever I'm sitting down for long periods of time. It's also made driving long distances a dicey venture as well because I've fallen asleep behind the wheel on multiple occasions. Does this sound like it could be CFS? I'm a Gulf War vet, so I know I could claim it as a chronic presumptive, but it looks like the VA is denying more Gulf War claims than granting them. I was wondering if I would be better off claiming CFS as a secondary to my sleep apnea or po…
