VA 'Retro Pay' Begins Tom Philpott | September 14, 2006 A small group of disabled military retirees this month will be the first of 133,000 to receive lump-sum back payments, which are tied to start-up challenges for two “concurrent receipt” programs enacted since 2003, say officials with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). The trickle of back payments in September will become a small geyser at the end of October. By then, officials say, another 40,000 retirees will see their catch-up payments deposited electronically in their bank accounts by either the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), DFAS or by both. Back payments will vary in size from sev…

ptsd Dro Appeal
I forgot to say I will work on my appeal to the DRO of the PTSD rating asking for 100% because I can`t work and haven`t since 2003 plus my c & p results should have been 70% according to diagnosis and gaf score. Agent Orange appeal won`t do any good because tonsil cancer isn`t listed as a cancer caused by AO....yet. It is in my lymph nodes also, but as they say, it spread there from the tonsils. The purple hearts are just scars on me. Cavman

Remand 51 Days Confirmed!
After 3 years and 8 months of never having my medical evidence addressed and due to VCAA procedual defect-the BVA remanded my AO claim to the astonishment of my vet reps. Actually it took less than 51 days- NOW the Buffalo VARO and NYSDVA will get me a proper AO decision- I am delirious with joy because the regs-men and women-do work for US and if we have to Fight for our rights= so be it- that means we MUST fight back with their regs and their defensive positions will crumble! I am living proof that the regs in 38 CFR and Duty To Assist will force them to react. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy! and tired from that battle------ Berta
