ptsd New Guy - Looking For Increase In Ptsd Rating
Not sure if I did this yet, I have a pretty low memory. Looking to upgrade my ptsd rating, but I recently started a job. Is that going to be a problem, or more it more difficult for me? I really don't know how long I will be able to stay with this job. I have concentration issues, and memory problems. But we really need the money.

Cpap Tremors And Depression
I'm at 80% disability for chronic migraines, knee replacement, carpal tunnel L/R, kidney problems, and back problems. Probably missing some too. The last few months I've been going to th VA to get my back, migraines and carpal tunnel rechecked due to increase in pain. I have a few questions. I was diagnosed with depression for the pain I'm in, 6-10 everyday. I'm not on medication for it but attend classes. I was put on the CPAP machine due to my weight I would assume. The neurologis says weigh gain is from the Depakote I take everyday for the migraines. I was diagnosed with tremors caused by the Depakote I take for the migraines. I would think these are…

tinnitus Looking For Advice
My claim was filed on 9/20/2011. One of my claims was hearing loss, very common I'm sure. I also have Tinnitus but I didn't claim it and my VSO missed it as well. My question is should I submit it right away or wait and see if the VA picks it up? Since I filed I've had an Audiogram at the VAMC here and I'm now sporting some nice hearing aids. My earliest completion date is 2/12/13, according to E Bennies. Would it slow it down? Would they just say well sure he has that too and keep on truckin? If I should file right away I would make a copy and send it to my VSO so they have it also. What do you think? Thanks brothers & sisters!

4 Different Regional Offices
Berta once commented on how, when you read things again , you often get something new you missed the first time. It did not dawn on me until the other day that my claim has been in 4 different Regional Offices: St. Pete, Philly, Roanoke and Cleveland. The VA only told me my claim was transferred to Roanoke. The others, I found out later. I was passed around like a "hot potatoe". Naturally, stuff "got lost". Calling Peggy or emailing Iris yielded conflicting answers. At least one "online ex VA employee" who claimed to know it all, said the decision to transfer a claim to another RO is made by head honchos, not at the RO. I see 2 possible explanation…

ptsd Gerd & Ptsd Comments Welcome
New studies are showing that individuals with confirmed diagnoses of PTSD have an incidence rate for GERD that is two times the general population. These studies also indicate that these individuals were exposed to dust. However, the levels of exposure to dust or any other dust related disorders have not been identified. There are no studies of individuals who live in dust, hydrocarbon or any other pollutant prone areas showing a high incidence of GERD. The veteran contends that it is “as likely as not” that mental disorders are just as capable of causing the high incidence of GERD as dust or any other pollutant. The veteran concedes that pollutants can cause ir…

Va Printout Shows Military Disability 100% - Huh?
My DH was at the VA satellite regional office yesterday to ask some questions. The VA rep gave him a printout of his screen that showed several tabs. The tab that said Rating Information showed a list of his disabilities, SC or not, diagnosis code, and rating assigned to each disability with the effective date. Another screen print (which I can't find right now, where the heck did I put it!??) showed something else, some other information. But what caught my eye and made me blink was this: It showed VA Disability = 100% Military Disability = 100% Well that's funny. Why would it show Military Disability when DH didn't go through the MEB process when he was discha…

Another Bogus C&p
I have been assisting a veteran who was diagnosed with GERD 9 months after discharge. The veteran has continued treatment with the VAMC since discharge and has received diagnoses of GERD and prescribed medication continuously. He has had several Barium swallows and UGI exams showing the presence of reflux. He went to a C&P and the C&P examiner wrote a report saying there was no objective evidence of GERD. His claim was denied based on this bogus C&P. I got involved and wrote a letter in support of the claim and got the C&P thrown out and the BVA remanded for a new C&P. I was disappointed because I thought there was sufficient records to show cont…
