With Regards To An Ongoing Claim
Mornin', y'all. Have another question. :) We are in the middle of a claim for several issues that we feel are service connected. During our research, and with the help of an amazing person here, we have found another couple of issues that we want to request SC for. Should I wait until the current claim is resolved with the VA? Or can I go ahead and submit the new medical issues as well? My husband told a VA rep a couple of months ago that we had a significant amount of research to present to the VA wiht regards to his SC, and the VA rep said, "Aw, just hold on to it. You don't want to muddle up the process right now. It'll just bog it down even more." I d…

Scheduled Bone Scan
I scheduled a Dr. appointment because my knee was killing me. I cant sit very long and sure cant stand very long without my knee hurt at about an "8".(Prior to Iraq in 2003 I tore my medial mediscus and had a partial tear on my ACL. They fixed the medial mediscus but not the ACL and shipped me to Iraq.). While telling the Dr. about my knee I told her about my lower back going out when sitting for long periods of time. (SCed for DDD in my neck). The doctor X-rayed my back and knee and said that I had arthritis in both. That day she scheduled me for a bone scan. Anyone had one before? I assume it is to see how much Arthritis is in me. What are the chances of claiming DDD on…

Faster Claims Processing Questions?
Is the new "Fully Developed Claims" processing system the same as the "Fast Track Claims" processing system except the "Fast Track Claims" system could only be used for certain AO related diseases? Can you use the "Fully Developed Claims" processing system for any service related condition? If a veteran uses either of the two systems, is it better to file the claim and submit evidence online or through certified mail to the VA in Pinto, Maryland where these type of claims are being processed? Georgiapapa...

Business,energy,home Grants.
Is there a part of the site, or another site that discusses grants for veterans to start businesses and such? I read something about grant money being available to vets to put solar panels on their roofs. What I read stated that the grants only applied to vets. Say I wanted to start a business and put solar panles on the roof? Who would I talk to to help me through the red tape?

New Vs Old For Claims
I've noticed that service people who were recently discharged or retired seem to be better staged to get good results on a claim. Some file before they retire! I retired in 1989 and it's harder for the VA to get info they request. For me it was 22 years after I retired before I ever filed a claim. I know this as I requested blood test results from a hospital where I had surgery while on active duty and I was told all the records were sent to archives somewhere. One of my contentions is that I got HCV during a blood transfusion at an Army hosp. in 1985. The hosp. probably doesn't know where my records are as they don't have them. That's ancient history. I did make a c…

Some Advice About How To Present This Research
OK I've spent about a year compiling research and I'm ready to get it ready to send to the VA. I was wondering if anybody had a good idea on how I could put it all together, in like one page. Maybe a spreadsheet or something that says "He was here, he has lung damage, this is the chemical that caused the lung damage, this is his duty station that had the chemicals, etc." Something like that. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been stuck here for a few days, not knowing how to do it. I would love to be able to have everything in one page, if at all possible, because I feel like it will make the most impact if they can look at it and see it all at once glance. I …

Got Bad News Today
I am currently 60% and work for the city where I live. My job title is driver, so I make a living driving commercial vehicle's for the city. Went to the Va today and here is what he wrote. Mr. so and so is followed in sleep medicine for obstructive sleep apnea with residual daytime sleepiness. Because this condition is characterized by daytime sleepiness, this puts Mr. so and so at considerable risk driving motorized vehicles. We recommend that he refrain from driving any motorized vehicles or operating dangerous equipment indefinitely. We are diligently working with Mr. so and so to treat this disorder and once we see improvement, he may be released to drive again. Pleas…

Proper C-File Request
Ok, I researched hadit, then the VA site, etc, etc... Hadit calls it a c-file. And recommends I get a copy of it. VA site. No mention of c-file or claims file or claims record, folder, etc etc... Or how to get it. The "Find Answers" tab on the Inquiry Routing & Information System (IRIS) page doesn't recognize anything related to a claims file, record or folder or how to get, etc... I was able to find where I could get a copy of my "health record" from the VA. So, it would seem to me that we (hadit, and inquiring vets) are speaking two different languages. Also, if the term "c-file" is used here often, and from what I see, the VA dose not recognize…
