diabetes Re-Examination Likely?
Hi This is my first post, but I have read quite a bit. Thanks for the informative posts and all the help I have already received. I was VERY recently awarded 70% for PTSD. I have a previous 20% disability dating from about 1990 related to Agent Orange, so I'm 80% overall. "Agent Orange" gives it away - I'm a Vietnam vet, 62 years old. My question is - how 'permanent' is this PTSD disability rating likely to be? Will I be reexamined every two years or so? I have read quite a bit here on hadit about people being called in for re-examinations. My C&P for PTSD was no fun at all - it took me back through a lot of things that I try to avoid thinking …

ptsd 60% To 100%
What are My chances to make it to 100% if the biggest single award I have is 30% PTSD ? 30% combined with lots of 10%ers= 60%- I was thinking about filing for increase in PTSD to 50% after 9-23-2012 and hope for a increase in the next year or two and then file for the 100% unemployable-but it would be nice to skip that long additional wait if at all possible.

Quick Question
According to ebennies and peggy my claim is pendiing decision approval. What is confusing me is peggy told me last week that a decision was made on the 19th of July and that it was awaiting approval, today peggy says that a decision was made on the 27th (today) and that it was waiting final approval. Then she proceeds to say that it is in the final stages and once a decision is made they will notify me, and that Waco usually takes 37 days for this process. Can any body make heads or tails of this. I think they are still just stringing me along. And why is 1-800 called peggy anyway? (just curious)

tdiu Fers, Owcp, Ssi And Such....
Here's the background. I'm a current USPS letter carrier. I've got over 20 years of Federal Service. I'm in FERS. I'm close to the point where I'm going to have to find another way to support my family. I'm SC on my lower back and it just keeps getting worse. I know some of you here have been down this path. As I see it the first thing I should do is file a claim with OWCP on the grounds that walking 10 miles per day has aggravated my back. Assuming I can get that approved that will get me some income. Then when the pain gets so bad I file for SSI and TDIU since I don't think I'll ever be able to get rated 100%. I'm currently at 20% back, 10% tinnitu…

tinnitus Award Letter: Va Deferred On A Decision
Hi all, I filed a claim for low back and tinnitus back on January 2011. Since filing I have had two C&Ps for the tinnitus and one C&P for my back. Yesterday I received a brown envelope that had the following under the “What We Decided” section: We determined that the following condition was related to your military service, so service connection has been granted: Medical Description Percentage Assigned (%) Effective Date Tinnitus 10% JAN 2011 ** We have deferred a decision on the following issue because we need additional information or evidence: Low Back Condition I just wanted to get everyone’s fee…

Notice Of Disagreement?
I wanted to get some thoughts on how I should approach my disagreement with the VA's decision on my rating. I filed 10/2010 for TDIU. I received a rating decision in 04/2012 and my TDIU was deferred. All ratings below are all service connected. In my rating decision for both my neck and lower back were lowered, because of the C&P doctor statement from my exam in 11/2010. My lower back was lowered from 40% to 20%, because C&P examiner said I had a forward flexion of 60 degrees, but he did not even do a ROM exam! Also, in 03/2010 my Neurosurgeon did a ROM exam a said I was limited to 10 degrees due to increased pain! Again, C&P examiner said that he did a ROM…

Proposed Va Ratings.
OK, so i'm still active duty AF, and i'm waiting on my proposed VA ratings and the MED board people to come up with a decision. My question is this. when I finaly recieve my proposed ratings from the VA, should I just accept them and move on? or should I try to get them changed? From what I am being told, as an active duty member, the process is suppossed to work a little faster for us. Is there any pitfalls with fighting their rating decision? I have read some of your stories on your % being lowered for XYZ reasons. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

Multiple Myeloma Claim
I'm wondering if anyone has handled a claim or have filed a claim for Multiple Myeloma when they have been diagnosed with Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, or MGUS. This can be a precurser to MM. MGUS is not MM but doctors have to continue to monitor for MM if you have MGUS. Does anyone have experience with the VA and MGUS? Thanks, Mil T
