Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
Once you know you are eligible for Veterans Disability Compensation, the question then becomes are you entitled to it by law. This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

Need Help Finding Ratings In Tables
In short, with great help from the DAV I am working through an issue with the VA on my claim. They've lost a number of my records, when I requested them I received a stack with another veteran's records mixed in with mine, etc. The VA now says they are going to make a "quick" determination on my claim from the records they have. I can appeal anything they "missed". My intent is to look at what it seems I should be authorized for under Book C and have the DAV rep in Winston-Salem ready with that information to try and fix this before they go final and I have to get into the multi-year appeal process. I have about 10 days. I am hoping someone can point me to where I c…

New And Have Questions
Hi folks, I'm new here and found this site while doing some research. I wanted to say thanks for all the great info on the site and also post some details and questions about my scenario. I have been awarded and receiving 60% disability since September 2004 for degenerative disc disease, pfs, and flat feet. That said, at the time of award, I was married with 2 children. I have since expanded my family to 7 children. We recently had twins and this prompted me to look things over with my benefits. I realized that I never updated or added any more dependents with the VA. Admittedly, this was ignorance on my part for never doing so, it just never crossed my mind. …

Dental Appointment At 60%
All, I see on MyHealthyVet that I was just scheduled for 2 dental appointments, 1 in April and 1 in June. I called the VA and dialed the extension to the dental office and got there voice mail twice. The last time I left a call back number and name. Haven't heard from them yet. Any ideas why. I am only at 60%. In 2004, I was sent to the VA for a dental exam after coming back from Iraq and they did an x-ray on my teeth, however, the VA dentist had had a family emergency and was not there for my appointment. They where going to reschedule me, however, I was on active duty (NG-AGR) and the state DMA paid for all of my dental, so I told them I would take care …

Rating Needed For Travel Pay
Hi, I went to my VA clinic yesterday for a Dr. appointment. When I went to get my travel pay the clerk told me I made to much money I wasn't eligible. I told him I'd got travel pay everytime I've had a appointment since I'd reached 30%. He said I shouldn't have been getting it. Anyway I started asking a little louder questions he said he was going to call security if I didn't leave. I thought I'd ask and be sure I was correct about getting travel pay at 30% before I go back to the clinc tomorrow. Thanks for any help Phil

What Is The Difference In Service Connected And Compensation
I know that a person can be service connected but do not get a payable rate. ok so once you get service connected do you then have to send information to get compensated. basically, I want to know is after you are service connected dthen you start getting the information that would give you a percentage. So, a person don not have to worry about bein service connected anymore, just try to see if you me the critera for a percentage. Just want to know.

Is A Increase In Va Award Possible?
I was diagnosed with patellofemoral syndrome left and right knees. And VA awarded myself 10% left 10% right. Question is while I was at Camp Pendelton getting examined when I was on active duty they found Osteoarthritis in my knees. After active duty I went to a specialist ( rheumatologist ) I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritus not Osteoarthritis. I have been on Embril for well over 2 years and was on menotrexate for short time, is it possible to get this connected? Thank you.

ptsd Question Regarding Bva Grant
In Nov. 2010 BVA gave me a full grant for PTSD, also granted no more than 10% Radiculipathy. They remanded my claim for Pain/Mood disorder and denied a claim for an increase for Lumbar fractures L2L3. Was told my claim is back at RO and is in open staus. 1. I called the 800 number to find out if my BVA grants have been sent to the raters. I was told by the 800 rep that the RO WILL NOT give me a decision and grant me benefits for the PTSD nor the Radiculipathy until they get this Pain/Mood disorder remand finished. I was wondering if she was right or again I am getting false info. from these people. 2. I also have a TDIU open claim...she said that since my remand…

Tempoary 100% Claim "lost"
Well I was applying for Tempoary 100% after having SC Back 3 level fusion in May of this year. Did paperwork at local VA and submited all hospital records about surgery limtations by surgeon who also wrote that I was going to be under his care for at leat 1 year to 1 1/2 years as my back was severely advanced due to arthritic changes well advanced my current age as a result of my injury in service and I was in his opinion unemployable to secure gainful employment as result of the SC back condition. I have been calling and asking about the tempoary 100% as my wife has lost months of work on account of me being unable to be left alone. i put in for Aid and attendance as…
