This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. Va Insurance Fraud For Service Connected Claims
I live in Oregon, and as some of you may have read a month or two back, brought to the attention of this forum how the VA has billed my private insurance over $6000 in claims it was not entitled to. Yesterday a co-worker told me he too has had his insurance billed for service-connected conditions. We intend to draft a collaborative letter to our respective Congressmen and women and CC all veteran organizations. If you live in Oregon or anywhere else and have been victimized by the VA with your private insurance being billed for service-connected disabilities, I wanted to hear from you; that is, if you are willing to sign onto our letter to be distributed to Congr…

Need Advice Regarding Skull Injury
Hello Fellow Vets, I've read the posts for a while but this is my first post. I hope I'm putting this in the correct topic area. I need some advice about an issue that is bouncing back and forth between VA and myself. The issue is regarding a skull injury I received while on active duty. The injury resulted in 20 square centimeters of skull being removed from the crown of my head by Air Force surgeons at Wilford Hall in San Antonio. I've never quite understood why, but they didn't put any type of plate or protection back in that area and as a result I have a depressed area about the size of the palm of my hand on one side of the crown of my head (where I have unfortunate…

Can Someone Please Help Me Calculate?
I was recently increased from 50% to 60% dating back from November 2008 until March 2010, THEN increased from 60% to 70% from March 4, 2010 til now (this was all in the same award letter). I received my backpay from the VA already. My question is will I also receive backpay from DFAS? I know that when I went from 40% to 50% I received backpay from the VA and DFAS. So, will DFAS send me some backpay this time, too? Thanks!

Does A Hospital Stay Move You To 100%?
Retired on 1 June. Have my D&C rating and receiving disability comp. Admitted to Bethedsa NNMC this past Wed (still here til Sunday). Does your D&C payment go up to 100% when admitted (thought I read or heard that somewhere)? Does the admittance need to be connected to an SC for which you are rated and receiving comp? If yes, how does one file? Thanks for any advice, Cheers Ray

Dry Eye Due To Lasik Denied As Not Sc
While on active duty in 2002 (I just retired this past June 1st) I had Lasik surgery done by an outside physician (who also did Tiger Woods!). I developed dry-eye as documented in my SMRs which is treated with eye drops. On my C&P determination, VA said that since I had it done outside of the military as an elective procedure, even though I was on AD, they consider the dry-eye condition to NOT be service connected. Are all "elective" surgery and any resulting conditions treated this way? I chose Lasik as the Air Force only does PRK. I wasn't sure whether I should file a NOD on this finding. Thanks for any advice. Cheers, Ray

Compensation For Common-law Spouse And Stepchildren
I was rated last April and began to recieve pay for myself only. My wife and children, who were listed and had verification provided for on the forms, were not included in the compensation. They all live in the home with me and have done so for over 5 years. They are supposed to be counted as my spouse and dependants. After loosing our paperwork between last April and last December, we finally recieve word in December that VA needs more information to verify our common-law marriage. We send in the statements requested. Statements from people who know us and we have been "married" around. VA already has our tax returns. Still nothing. I call at least weekly. We…
