ptsd Tmj Associated With Ptsd
I will try to keep this quick and not too drawn out. I have been off active duty for 14-15 months after deploying to Iraq. I Have submitted a claim and was denied for PTSD a few months after coming off active duty. Submitted a NOD and still waiting for that to go forward (less than a year after receiving the denial for service connection). About a year ago I was doing my final dental exam with the VA (the last one they give your for free within 180 days of being on active duty). They observed that my teeth were extremely worn down and recommended and paid for a mouth guard. I did not claim anything regarding that or the fact that I have a popping/grinding sound whe…

Is 54.64 Equal To 50% Or 60%?
I just received an increase from 10% to 20 % effective 1 Nov 2008 which increased my rating from 48.97% to 54.64% (50 or 60 percent?). Then, in the same letter they increased that same injury from 20% to 40% effective 4 March 2010 which takes me to 65.98%. So, is 54.64 equal to 50% or 60%? Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.

Aid And Attendance Question
I am SC for Degenatrive Disc disease and for migraines. I am not able to dress myself without help and when I am down with the weeklong migraines I am pretty much an invalid. Most of the time my migraines last a day or two but here lately it lasted almost a whole week. I was admited to Hospital ER and knocked out with meds which is what happens when I cannot just lay down and get away from the migraine. Where I live right now I have some help that will come over but I am planning on moving overseas this fall to get away from the cold. I do mean to put the cart in front of the horse but how is Aid and attendance paid and is it to me or individual or agency I hire out? Al…

ptsd Question On Back Pay Date
Hello everyone, I have a question I'd like answered if you can. I recently won my case for SC for PTSD through the VBA in July. They recently sent my records back to the RO for write-up. I'm trying to get an indication as to how far back they will go for compensation I'm going to write the statment word for word as it appears on my decision. The Board acknowledges that the Veteran's claim for service connection for PTSD was readjudicated as an application to reopen a previously denied claim for SC for PTSD in an April 2006 rating desion. However, as the Veteran's September 2006 NOD was received within 1 year of the initial January 2006 denial of his claim for SC fo…

I have been getting headaches that turn into migraines pretty much daily and the only thing that helps is to lay down but when i get back up the pain starts to prgress again the longer i am up. These have been happening for about six months now and i have been to VA emergency a few times and the primary doctor in which they only give me stuff for anti- inflamatory and muscle spasms. The primary sent me to pain management to see about getting me on stronger me…

tdiu Secondary Claims
Hello fellow Vets, Its has been awhile since posting on this wonderful forum. A lot has changed on this site,I was a member several years ago when things looked very different. This place has really grown! I have a question regarding Secondary Claims. Several years ago the VA diagnosed me with Osteopenia. It went untreated and eventually turned into full blown Osteoporosis. I have had several bone density test to verify this. I have been seeing a civilian MD(I give myself weekly injections of Testosterone 100mg) and he has written a letter stating my Osteoporosis is directly related to the many years of being on Narcotics for pain control. I was Medically discharged fr…

ptsd Am I On The Right Track?
I was hoping of some guidance to see if I was on the right track with regards to my claim. Not to rehash everything, but I filed for several items (knees, back, skin rask, PTSD) after returning from Iraq. I did a very poor job in my case and upon receiving my rating decision I was denied on all items. I take full responsibility for not using a VSO or seeking assistance, but it is in the past. A few weeks ago I submitted a NOD through a VSO, well within the one year time frame so at least I did that right. My problem was the fact that I was seen in Iraq by medical personnel for ALL the issues that I applied for. However, I was at a very isolated base and when I wa…

I am now under the civillain Surgeon care who wrote a letter with the records of the surgery and that in his opinion I would be under his care for…

Dr. Nurse Practitioner Opinion V Dr. Opinion
The Board may appropriately favor the opinion of one competent medical authority over another. See Owens v. Brown, 7 Vet. App. 429, 433 (1995); Wensch v. Principi, 15 Vet. App. 362, 367 (2001). Is their any way to win my claim after the VA uses Owens V. Brown against me?

Direction On Nod And Possible Connection Of Another Issue
I have been reading through forums for sometime and appreciate all of the info. I have recently received SC for ankle injury from 1986, it has taken well over eight months and tons of background evidence from many sources that I was finally able to piece together. I had no ankle issues or pain prior to entry to USAF and subsequent knee pain became an issue within 2-3 years of ankle injury, progressing most aggressively in the last 7 years as ankle pain/aggravation has picked up pace. VA has consistently denied secondary connection of knee issues that appeared about four years after ankle injury, until the last 6 years just haven't been able to arrange for specialist…

Increase Filing For Radiculopathy/new Filing For Radiculopathy And Ed
So, I just got back from my doctor, and laid out my med history for her, for my svc. connected stuff. She'd never seen it so we spent an hour or so going over it all, starting with my C and P from 2002 when I was rated for DDD. I asked her a few questions: 1. Is it possible the C and p doctor in 2002/2003 messed up in not service connecting my left leg? 2. Is it Radiculopathy/DDD getting worse overall? 3. Do I have ED? Based on what she said i'm claiming increased radiculopathy in Rt leg, Service Connection for radiculopathy in my left leg, and amending my current claim for ED based on her examination and prescription of Paxil for it (PE). The VA doc put me on a …
