Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
Once you know you are eligible for Veterans Disability Compensation, the question then becomes are you entitled to it by law. This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

Va Stealing Money From Veterans Through Private Health Insurance!
Moderators....not sure if this is the right forum for this discussion, but it does fall under the issue of disability compensation since it is directly related to it. So I made my best guess, but if I am wrong feel free to move it to the appropriate forum. Anyhow, I, as the veteran, who is 100% service connected for a bladder disorder, chronic thoracic, cervical, and lumbar muscle strain, degenerative disc disease of the entire spine, fibromyalgia, IBS, and several other conditions just learned that the Department of Veterans Affairs has been billing my 3rd party private insurance company since July 2009 for examinations, blood tests, an MRI, and follow-up office visit…

Waiting For The Exam
Hey everyone, Monday I got my letter from the regional office telling me that they have requested an exam date at the Phoenix VA Hospital, seems to be going smooth so far. I also got a call from the RO rep to go over my package and to inquire if I had anything else to submit, he also suggested that I have a POA with one of the service organizations, that made me wonder, why does it look bad for me. So what happens at the exam? what questions are asked and do they xray, just trying to get a picture here.. thanks for your time..

ptsd Tbi Ptsd Question
Hi all, I was rated under the old system for my TBI, they called it brain syndrom. I was rated at 50%. I have been diagnosed for PTSD and also I get severe headaches. I have requested a new sc for PTSD, and headaches, which were included in my old rating. I am nervous. Is my older rating preserved at 50% if they rate my TBI and PTSD under the new law? I am currently 80% total however put in for an increase today. Thanks So confused~

ptsd Withdraw A Claim
Hello; Can I withdraw a claim for TBI and still be rated separately for Depression/PTSD/Bipolar? As it is now, the VA has rated me under the Diagnostic Code of 8045 (TBI) too include residuals (ie. Depression/PTSD/Bipolar). Do I need to ask to be rated separately or if I withdraw the TBI - will they automatically rate me for the Depression/PTSD/Bipolar) under separate Diagnostic Code(s)? Thank you.

Filed For Increase
I filed for an increase for Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis. I was granted SC for the two back in 1994. Was given 0% for each one. Had a green filter in '98 and filed for an increase but denied.

Combat-related Special Compensation
Can anyone explain Combat-Related Special Compensation to me? For example, is it based on your overall va rating? Or, for only the injuried knee etc, not for the overall rating? Thanks in advance.

Nephrolithiasis
Can someone verify what I read about Nephrolithiasis, or kidney stones. According to DC-7508 it is to be rated under hydronephrosis "unless one or more of the following." 1. Diet therapy 2. Drug therapy 3. invasive or non-invasive procedures more than two times/year. So as I read it if you use one of the 3 listed you are to receive 30% under nephrolithiasis, am I reading it right. Thanks, Bergie
