C&p Exam
I received a copy of my C and P examiners impression today. She wrote... "It is at least as likely as not that the veterans current condition of obstructive sleep apnea existed during military service as evidenced by multiple buddy statements to support the presence of snoring, apnea and sleep disturbances during active duty, symptoms which are consistent with sleep apnea." Does this mean Ill be rated for sleep apnea?

ptsd Ptsd Deferred
Get my award letter for SC tinnitus and hearing loss. Good to go on that. Says ptsd is deferred though. My c&p exam is done and i've been seeing the shrink for a while now, and on meds. I'm not sure if they're waiting on more info or what. And also there is a stressor in my c-file connecting it. Just confused a little as to why it's deferred.

ptsd Ptsd
If as a boy I had witnessed my little brother drown (CPR resuscitated) in the family pool then as an adult I witnessed one of my classmates in SAR school drown (Oxygen bottle resuscitated). The SAR drowning exacerbated the earlier PTSD from childhood. Does that fall under the purview of the law? Also, as a Navy whistle-blower in 1985., when the US Navy branded, slandered and libeled me publicly in the press, and in the very halls of Congress while I testified to Congress about the $320,000,000 fraud, waste and abuse on the USS Kitty Hawk. The mental trauma I received prior to that from being thrown into the streets with seventy-two days left on active duty, without any…

ptsd Review/increase Of Rating Decision
There are so many other posts on here I haven't had a chance to get into all of them and personally I don't know if I have the energy. I've been going through a lot the past several months. And knowing what I have to look forward to stresses me out even more. Plus I have short/long term memory problems so I forget some things. Well, I filed my original claim 9/13/07 and really didn't look over it much. I just knew I was 50% connected for 8 of the 14 issues I reported. What I was looking into was either reopening the claims or increasing my claim. While in the service I was seen a number of times between Oct 2001 up until the time I discharged. I was young and afraid to te…

ptsd Ptsd Fraud
:D :D :o :D :D Just read on VA Watchdog where many "veterans" are lying about stressors in order to claim benefits. I was a Dog Handler in Nam "70" - "71", 101st 47th IPSD. Tried for several years to get SR benefits for injuries and PTSD received while overseas but always got the same old story....WE NEED PROOF OF STRESSORS. Now after almost 40 years and many sleepless nights and nightmares, failed relationships, going from job to job, etc., I'm finally coming to terms with my past "life". I'm close to receiving benefits for Dabetes II and anxiety disorder, the latter not PTSD because I don't believe the "examiner" did his homework. My question is, …

Health Care Reform
Information for Veterans about Health Care Reform Many Veterans have questions about the new health care reform law. The Department of Veterans Affairs offers the following information about the law and its impact on Veterans. This document addresses only the most pressing questions that have been raised. VA will provide additional information about the new law as it is developed. The law contains many complex provisions, including many reforms to the practices of the health insurance industry. Nothing in the new law changes anything about the Veterans' health care program. Enrolled Veterans may still rely on VA for their health c…

Permanent Damage/disability
I don't know if this is the right palce to post this but everone on here has been so helpful wherever I post. Just findind out that I probably have permanent sciatic nerve damage and my back is trash. It is finally starting to hit me that I will never be the same again. I am pretty young (relative) and this reality is becoming hard to come to grips with. I am not talking about VA disability ratings at this point because that isn't going to change the fact that I am really disabled - maybe they will rate me 70% + or maybe 20% and denials, but I will still be messed up. I know a lot of people on this site have gone through this and live with it every day and how do you…

Service Connected Increase
Hello, I have a question on a service connected claim. I get 10 percent for my left knee due to an injury while on active duty. 1 year after I was awarded SC I submitted for an increase due to having pain issue's in my knee. I was turned down at that time but the C&P doctor did say on my denial letter that I will have continue knee problems. so three years later and more pain I'm looking into doing a increase on my SC. I have asked for a consult for an Orthro Pedic because when I see the VA doctor here as an outpatient he always brings up why the military did not issue me a knee brace. The C&P doctor also said the same thing but you know the story with the VA. wel…

ptsd The Doctor Wasn't Clear Enough?
So I have been waiting since my April 22nd C&P exam for PTSD for a decision. I know this isn't too long of a wait, but when you wait over a month just to get the appointment the days seem to drag. So I called in to the VA Claims number to check on my status. I was informed that the examiner wasn't "clear enough" in their report of the findings, so now it needs to be sent back to him to clear some statements up or something and just that can take up to 60 days. So it appears I'll be waiting about another 3 months for a decision. Has this happened to anyone else? If so please let me know how it went, and if this is a bad sign or a good one. I'm really lost here and woul…

Rating Help For Ms
Good afternoon. I am hoping some of the wise members here can help me :D I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had my C&P exam two weeks ago, and the VA Doc stated that since it is in my military medical records that i first sought treatment in 2004 for numbness that he was going to say that I've had MS since then. My question is, will I be compensated from that point or from the time I applied? Also, does anyone know how they rate the "degrees" of MS? I know it starts at 30% but I've searched and can't find any info. Thank you in advance for your time and help Tami
