Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
Once you know you are eligible for Veterans Disability Compensation, the question then becomes are you entitled to it by law. This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

ptsd I Hate To Ask But I Am Going To
I am ten percent SC for anxiety disorder. When I was rated I was on 50mg of pill A, and say a therapist weekly. Now I see the shrink every 3 months and they increased my meds of pill A to 200mg. They tried adding another pill B, but this increased violent behavior and dark thoughts. The removed pill B from my regimen. My next appointment the shrink is considering adding pill C with pill A which is at the maxium FDA dosage. I hate asking this cause it seems like I just want more money, but is 10 percent and accurate reflection on my condtion? I was reading a chart for PTSD and I felt that I fit in the 30% percent catagorey, or maybe thats something like the plseubo e…

Chiari Malformation
Just doing an update to an earlier post I think I posted a year or two ago. I wanted to see if anyone lately or last year or so got rated by the VA for this condition and how the VA treats it. My hubby got believes he acquired his condition through a traumatic event that hit his head after falling off of an duece truck in service. Well he has never applied for a rating but would like to pursue this condition as it is causing him alot of problems. His brain has shifted down into his neck area and they have told him that it would required brain surgery to fix. He has not come to grips I think with the whole sitiuation nor has elected to do any surgery to his brain. He has t…

Update
I wanted to give everyone an update as to what is going on. I recently retired from the Army (31 Oct 2010) and I was awarded 100% from the VA on 17 Feb 2011. I recently filed for SSD and hired a lawyer to represent me throughout the process. I am 50% depression, 50% Sleep apnea, 40% Prostatis, 10%Tinnitus and a bunch of 10%'s for various other reasons. My Depression 50% will be reavaluated in June along with my 50% Prostatis, both claims are getting worse and I don't think they will improve anytime soon. I will be filing for T & P in may, hopefully everything will work out. I am seeing numerous civilian dr's to include a Pschyiatrist and I recently was told my liver …

If One Claim In, Can I File Another Supportive One?
PVA has my claim now working on getting the MS secondary issues lined out. i have medical documentation that supports SC for another part of my spine that was injured while active duty. PVA said they don't want to file that yet and to wait until all this MS stuff is done. would it be unwise to file the other claim myself? at the least to get the supportive data into my c-file? the VA raters are very busy as is the VA. my way of thinking, and it certainly could be wrong hence i ask you folks, is to get the supportive claim in.

hypertension Ptsd Increase Rating
Hello all, I hope I am posting in the write topic area. I served in Iraq 2004-2005, I am currently 30% for PTSD 10% for Hypertension. Awarded PTSD 30% in 2008. I applied for an increase in rating, felt I was low balled and in addition, suffer from anxiety, insomnia, the whole nine yards. In 2008 my C&P exam reads as follows: Impression: The veteran's symptoms meets DSM-IV criteria for PSTD. AXIS I - PTSD - chronic Depressive Disorder NOS, representing a progression of PTSD AXIS II - No diagnosis AXIS III -As Noted Above AXIS IV - Current GAF 44, reflecting (s…

ptsd Are They Tipping There Hand?
Hello All, Some time ago I appealed a decision on my knees as I thought they got the rating wrong. After that I submitted a claim secondary to my knee pain of anxiety, stress as well as PTSD. This diagnosis is supported by my Doctor but the VA called it adjustment disorder during the C and P. My VA psyciatrist as well as my team councellor are calling it severe depression. So basically my appeal got placed on a back burner until they handled the new claim. Last Friday I recieved a letter asking me if I still wanted a video interview for my appeal. My Depression etc... has been at the rating board since Mar 3. Is it likely they made a decision on my claim and are now…
