C&p Exam
I have my C&P yesterday for IHD in Mountain Home, TN VA Hospital. I think it went well. The physical was adequate. The Examiner did not seem rushed. He asked a lot of questions as to my everyday activities. Some questions were asked more than once, I think this is part of trying to determine what is BS and what is truth. Just remember if you tell the truth you don't have to remember the answers. He conceded that I have IHD and said I fit into category 3 ? don't know what that meant. He relied alot on my civilian doctors tests and findings. What the raters put on this is what counts.

Do I Need A Va Appointed Doctor?
I have always had medical insurance coverage by my employer. Since becoming disabled I now have Medicare. Question, would I benefit any by having the VA to assign me a VA doctor? I have never used any VA drugs or doctors. Would it help in the claim process? Thanks for any reply Ken

Answering My Own Question
After many questions posed to numerous people, I think I have it figured out. You can collect unemployment or work while waiting on the determination of a service connected disability. You cannot do either while waiting for determination of a non service connected disability. SC's are running anywhere from 4 months to over a year depending on the problem and which region you apply in. Non service connecteds are running 6 months to over a year depending on the same things. I just recently had someone have the awareness to ask me if I sought treatment for my condition while in the service, and as it turns out there are records to back it up and I even remem…

Initial Compensation Exam
What does it mean when one has their first C&P exam for a claim when no opinion of a nexus for service connection is requested of the doctor/examiner? Does that mean the RO has already established SC?

hypertension Letter From Qtc
I received a letter from QTC today and say that I need to contact my physician regarding the findings of my chest x-rays and EKG from my C&P exam. Is this a routine letter, or should I worry that they found something unusual? (I'm claiming heart disease/heart bypass surgery secondary to SC hypertension.) Has anyone else out there received such a letter? Thanks,

ptsd Forgetting Anything?
Hello! (Pretty sure I accidentally posted an almost empty post, so please excuse a double if thats the case!) A little background to set me in the right direction- My husband was sent to WTU in Feb 08 due to PTSD, but while in the process we discovered a TBI. The TBI was discovered after his vision suffered, then the vertigo set in, which happened infrequently in the very beginning. Then, it increased. Oh boy, did it increase! We didn't really get anywhere with it until we kept a record which included 21 attacks in 31 days. Then he was scheduled for a slew of TBI testing, including a Neuro-Psych done by a civilian doctor. His NP showed some serious issue…

ptsd Request For Second C&p
Hi: I'm a oif veteran. I just got my rating decision letter for my first claim in august 2009. I was rated 30% for PTSD, 10% for lumbar spine strain, 10% cervical spine strain and 10% for varicocele. My question is: can I ask for another c&p exam instead of appealing my PTSD claim? Since my c&p exam on feb 2009 I've been going down hill because of my PTSD. Increase in anxiety, panic, anger and haven't been working for the last 3 months due to my sc disabiliies, ie:neck and back pain. :D :) If not what are my options. I'm new in this and my memory is not good at all so please bear with me. I'm also a Purple heart recipient, don't know if that mathers. Any advice …

ptsd C&p Exams Scheduled
I put a claim in for an increase in PTSD from 50 --> 70%, increase for both shoulders due to arthritis and sleep apnea. I just got the letter from the VA, about what info they still need and that they are processing my claim. I have 3 C&P exams upccoming next week. They said I put in for an increase in HTN, which I definitly did not and they are giving me a C&P exam for that. All i mention about HTN was that I thought it may, key word-may, have an effect on sleep apnea. I have mental health C&P exam as well as ortho. I've requested my recent notes from mental health to review before I go into C&P, but have yet to receive them. I put request in for them …

diabetes Agent Orange Registry Exam
I need some input on this. I had a AO exam today, blood work, urine test, EKG, X-Rays. After having tests done I was given an appointment on 23 Feb. for a C&P rating. This seems awlful fast to me. I have claims in progress for IHD, PTSD, Diabetes II, I am service connected 0% for feet problems. I was hesitant to question why so soon. Routine? just saying seems fast.
