Back Pay?
I got out of the Army for a back injury in Jun06. I filed with the VA soon there after. They gave me a jun17th date on the phone as my first filling. I never got word on appointments, or a rating. Earlier this year I finally got back to it and got word that I never showed up for doctor appointments. Reason it all came back up is because I went to the hospital for my service connected back problem. I got a 20% rating at the beggining of the year. I called a couple weeks ago and had a claim filed to take that 20% rating back to me first time I filed. Now I hope all that makes sense, but do any of you know how successful this will be? I don't know if I should look forward…

ptsd I Had My Ptsd C&p :)
I had my PTSD C&P about a week ago. I was told where to go and when to be there. I arrived at a small clinic where the receptionist was friendly and helpful. She offered my wife and I something to drink and talked to us till the doc came in to ask us back to the exam room. She was very friendly and seated us in comfortable chairs. We talked about the exam for a bit before the questions started. I handed her a letter I had printed that gave details about the Beirut Bombing, some before and after pictures of the explosion, My accounts of what happened that day, a page of why I was asking for both compensation as well as assistance, and a letter from my wife stating the …

ptsd C&p Today
Hey all, had my second c&p today for an appeal from the original that this lady from india, who could hardly speak english did on me, and basically called me a liar, quoting me as saying I had a bunch of symptoms before deployment, that I hadn't. I really got into it, a week ago with, another seemingly snotty dr. that was supposto do my exam for the appeal. It ended with a reappointment for today that I just got done with. I made it clear to everyone that I'm not going to take on the character of being a scammer for benefits, that of which was what I was being made into from the original exam, and I verbally threatened to sue for defamation. Today the doc I saw…

i have been having dreams about this exam since i got the notice of the date. in my dream - the examiner was a vampire. i am happy to report - NO VAMPIRE! they screwed up the appt by scheduling me for a review instead of an initial exam. i was almost turned away at that point. i started crying and the lady in the office went off on me and demanded to know why i was crying! then got defensive saying "shit happens and aint no need in cryin' about it!" mind u, i hadnt sd anything at this point. she jumped to conclusions. she pulled me in the office and continued to go off on me about crying. a psychologist came in the office and sd she had a no show and would be ha…

C & P Exam Doc Won't Enter Data
retired navy, 24.5 yrs on 1 SEP 09. started the 'process' back in May 09. saw all the specialists and had my 'final' CP exam on 13 JULY 09. called two weeks after and was told the doc was still entering data...okay.... called ever two weeks and got the same answer. called QTC to see if that was normal and they said 'no' and that they would call to 'encourage' the doc. 14 SEP i called and was told it still was not done. called my VA rep and asked what i could do. he said he'd call me back the next day. he didn't (i know they're busy) so i called him back the day after. he said that it was this doc's first time and decided he didn't want to continue doing VA exa…

Sinusitis Service Connection Through Va Exam
Hello, I had a VA exam which included an MRI 10 days after coming off of active duty in Iraq. The MRI showed pretty bad sinusitis and so I'm wondering if I would be able to get a service connection for it as it has continued now for a couple of years. I guess the problem is that I never complained about it while I was in service and that the VA exam took place 10 days after I got off of active duty. The condition is definitely not something that just develops in a matter of a few days. Do I have a shot here at service connection, or am I out of luck because they found it just after I came off active duty? The reason I didn't put in a claim for it a couple of y…

Pre-service Disability Reduction
After reading a bunch of forums here, I decided to re-read my original SC award letter. I found that the VA actually reduced a 30% rating by 10% because they say I had a 10% pre-service disability. I would like to know if it would be worth the effort to 'correct' this problem. I am 40% SC, but here is the breakdown of my SC conditions: 1. 10% asthma bronchiole (claimed as asthma) 2. 30% allergic rhinitis/sinusitis (reduced by 10% because the VA says I had a 10% pre-service disability) 3. 10% chronic allergic conjunctivitis, bilateral 4. 10% internal derangement of the right temporomandibular joint Pre-service disability? On my award letter, for number two it…

Help With Sleep Apnea Denial
Hello all; this is my first post. I’ve learned a lot in this forum yet realize I have so much more to learn. More confused and disappointed about misinformation than anything else but I got a heads up from the DAV that the VA denied 8 of my claims. I didn’t get the official VA package yet, only a heads-up letter from the DAV who is in the loop on my claims. One of the big items they disapproved was my sleep apnea. I had very bad gout/arthritis issues just as I was about to start my terminal leave. During that time, a tumor was found and removed from my right foot. These issues delayed the start of my terminal leave and resulted in me having to sell back 60 days of…

Why Would Va Do A Prostate Exam For A Back C&p?
Hi all, I am new to this forum and appreciate all the work and time people are giving to help people like myself get straight data. I am already rated at 40% (2000) and just went for a QTC exam for my back "Chronic lumbar stain with residuals of surgery". The QTC doctor did not have me do any bending or try to touch my toes, He did not use a goniometer, pretty much just did my reflex in my R ankle. My real question was why did he say the VA ordered then do a prostate exam? I told him I just had one done by my private physician and could send him the results - No, he had to give the finger wave himself. Please help me clarify, before I go to the VA to find out why.
