Form 2507 wording for aggravation of nonservice-connected disabilities
I have service connected COPD, and I have OSA (not considered service connected). I know of lots of information that shows that the combination of the two is much worse than either alone. First question: what does the rating official need to ask for in the Form 2507 for the C&P doctor to write an opinion on whether my OSA is exacerbated by my COPD. Next: am I reading 38 USC 3.3.10(b) correctly to mean even if my sleep apnea is not service connected, if it's aggravated by something that is service connected, it's service connected.

What's the proper way to measure spine range of motion?
Got my C and P in a few weeks at QTC in Tacoma, WA. Currently active duty. How does one know if the doc is using the goniometer correctly? Should spine be measured while you stand, sit, or lay on your back? Has anybody had their pelvis held still by a strap or by an office assistant?

Tinnitus & Hearing Loss C&P Exam
Yesterday I reported to the Orlando VA Medical Center for the above-styled exam As he escorted me into the exam room, he asked me a question in a low voice. I couldn't understand what he said. I replied, "What did you say?" Then he spoke clearly and loud enough for me to understand him. So I replied to his question. The initial part of the exam involved inserting some kind of medical device in each ear canal, one side at a time, and I felt pressure and it made beeping noises. Then came the tone response test where you tell them when you can hear the tone. Finally, sentences were said where you have to identify a particular word and …

Finished all my C&P Exams.
Hello everybody, I'm very new to the claims process and had just submitted my claim October 20th last year. This week I was scheduled and finished all my C&P exams (3 of them). What can I expect as a wait time once the exams are finished for a decision? I've read usually within a month to couple months? VA estimated time for completion of claim is between 5/17 and 9/17. Not too sure how accurate that is considering I've already gotten my C&P exams done only 2.5 months into my claim. Also, I'm not familiar with any of the terminologies used and abbreviations. I'm in the VA Palo Alto health care system, not too sure if that make a difference or if the c…

C&P for increase to IU
I am rated at 30% cervical, 40% Lumbar, 30% Migraines, 70% MH due to pain. I requested IU and they scheduled me for C&P exams because im asking for increase is how they state it, however i went to my first exam for Cervical, Lumbar and Migraines and it was a very short exam no measuring device or anything of the sort. She did state she was checking to see if i have gotten worse. Just wondering if this is normal or was she suppose to provide a complete exam?? or is it their way of trying to reduce my percentages to keep me from obtaining IU? To my advantage though i provided the C&P examiner hospital documents that two days prior i had a Lumbar Ablation (…

Knee C&P help please
Can someone please help me out here. I asked for an increase on my left knee and claimed right knee secondary to already service connected left knee. This appears to a pretty favorable C&P. I received an award letter saying my left knee was increased to 20% from 0% and my right knee was deferred because the doc didnt provide a diagnosis for it during the C&P. So just this Monday he added an addendum that provided a diagnosis of "Right knee strain". Im just curious as to what percentage I can get from this because if I can at least get 10% it would be enough to round my overall percentage to 60%. From what I've read on here and other cites it looks like I should ge…

Reduced Rating
Hello and good day to you all. I was recently scheduled by the VA to have a C&P on my back that I am already getting 40% on. The appointment was set for January 4, 2017. On Jan 3, 2017 the C&P DR called me and said she need to have an X-ray done before she can see me. I could not get it done the day before so she told me to cancel my appoint one hour before and she will put in the order fro the X-ray. I took the X-rays on Jan 5, 2017. I received a call from AMVETS that the VA is reducing my rating from 70% to 0 because I did not show to my C&P. I followed the instructions of the DR and today I receive a letter in the mail saying I owe the VA $7500. Wha…

How can I get C&P results from VA Contractor
I am trying to figure out how to obtain the results from a C&P exam performed by a VA contracted C&P exam. I had a C&P exam from a VA contractor (LHI-Bowie) and I am trying to obtain the results from this exam. While at the VA contracted LHI-Bowie C&P exam, I asked the nurse how I could get a copy of this exam. She told me that the request would have to go through the VA, as LHI-Bowie just forwards the results to the VA. So after the exam I sent a Freedom of Information Act Request to the VA requesting the C&P exam results for the exam conducted by LHI-Bowie. After sending this letter, I got a letter back from the VA. The lett…

No Exam available in my area
I was informed there are no C&P examiners available in my area - the closest 150 MILES away - my disability makes it difficult for me to sit for long periods of time so being driven 3 hours is not feasible. I live in a metropolitan capitol city so this doesn't make any sense. They said they are looking for more providers but cannot say when that might happen suggesting it may be many months which isn't acceptable. Im not getting anywhere with the people I have spoken to. Is there some rule that the C&P must be within a reasonable distance (given my inability to travel) and if they must schedule in a reasonable amount of time?

Claims File (C File.)
I am going through a review. I am nervous as heck. I was homeless before getting my benefits. In 2009 I went into a VA homeless per diem program and stumbled on that I had a possible service connected disability. And I was awarded it in 2010. I was 52 at the time. Pure luck knowing about it and I had a really decent pyschiatrist and counselor. Why hadn't I sought this option before? Someone told me when I was in the Army that post Vietnam vets (i served 1976-80) didn't have medical benefits and I believed them and never inquired about them for myself at the VA. (I know now… not very smart.) The upcoming review is very stressful and stress triggers my symptoms. I am…
