VA Vocational Rehab Counselor Access to PHI
Are VA Vocational Rehabilitation counselors granted access to a veterans medical records or compensation and pension exam information? I went to a VA Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in order to apply for Voc Rehab benefits. Would like to further my education. My Vocational Rehab Counselor and her supervisor stated that education is not feasible for me based on things that were listed in my C&P exam and by my civilian psychologist 2 years ago. (I have Major Depression & PTSD due to MST.) I honestly feel that my Vocational Rehab Counselor and her boss invaded my privacy. They are not health care professionals. I am in a much better place than I was two years …

Case for a CUE? DBQ hearing loss evidence dismissed
My recent DBQ for tinnitus and hearing loss is confusing. The audiologist performing my DBQ states my tinnitus is “At least as likely as not (50% probability or greater) caused by or a result of military noise exposure. Rationale: The veteran was exposed to excessive noise exposure (acoustic trauma) during service. Excessive noise exposure (acoustic trauma) is known to cause tinnitus; therefore the tinnitus is at least as likely as not a result of military noise exposure. So that part is good. But then, in the same test, by the same audiologist, my hearing test which is listed as permanent positive threshold shift for both ears with a 70% score (both ears) f…

Back T-SPINE C&P
I am still waiting on the VA to decide on my disability claim. It is currently sitting at a DRO review. No reliable timeline for completion. Using my attached C&P exam, what do you think will be decided on my Back T-Spine VA claim? It’s been over 4 years so far, I am kind of anxious to see what the outcome will be. Original VA Claim: Back Condition (Claimed as pinched nerve in back) Thanks for any insight you can provide! BACK T-SPINE DBQ.pdf

C&P Exam went good & bad!
So, first of all, thanks for creating/maintaining this community as it has been a great source of information as well as stress relief! So, filed a claim June 2016, Gulf War vet, Gastro-intestinal disturbances (Bloating, diahrea, constipation), Sleep issues, Bi-lateral arm/shoulder pain, Short term memory issues. On January 2017 I had my first C&P exam. The exam was scheduled at a VA outpatient center. Doctor was an 87 year old Iranian fellow. I broke down emotionally, as I usually do when I'm at the VA for whatever reason. Exam, much to my suprise, seemed to go very well. He filled out DBQ for gastro issues, xrayed my stomach, checked me for hemmoroids (which I …

C&P exam with a DBQ
First let me thank all of the members who have posted so much good informational conversations. It has helped and opened my eyes a lot during this long and tedious process. The question I have, with a bit of background information. I have been seeing my primary care provider, which is an MD, for about 8 years. During these 8 years he has diagnosed me with IBS, Migraine headaches and PTSD, with a Psychiatrist diagnosing me with PTSD as well. During this time he has also diagnosed me, most recently, with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. With that being said, he completed a DBQ for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I filed the claim and was surprised that I was called to Myrtle Beach, SC f…

General Mental C&P
When it asks if the doctor can differentiate between mental diagnosises is that a good sign? I keep being told you can only have one MH rating which is why my PTSD/TBI are combined he said my chronic adjustment disorder is seperate, so what happens to my one rating?

Can I request a female doctor, specifically a gyn?
I received a phone call from QTC for my cp exam for female sexual arousal disorder, they wanted to schedule me with this gp doctor who is a male for a pap with, I said no, they had to find me a female doctor. This is something normal to ask for right? I thought it was absurd they were asking me to go for that type of an exam with a male provider. There are many things I don't mind a male provider for but not this.

Compensation claim
I have been diagnosed with Type ll diabetes and the doctors have put in my records that the cause of this condition is most likely due to steroid use. This is in my medical records. I filed a claim for this and have been scheduled with a C&P. Ca n anyone tell me what they are going to be looking for or what they will be asking. They are trying to figure out if it is service connected or due to treatment by the VA.I was given steroids in both cases.
