ptsd Ptsd Eval
I've only recently within the last 7-8 months sought counseling with the VA. I was doing individual and just started group last week. the group leader said that i certainly have ptsd due to mst but she wants to eval me. i havent yet filed my scd claim for it bcuz i am still waiting on my records from st. louis. should i go ahead and do the eval with her? will it make the claim easier/quicker? or should i hold off till i file the claim? thx, christy

ptsd Bay Pines
I am trying to find out if anyone knows if the MST Clinic at Bay Pines can do the evaluation you need to get permanent and total status for PTSD. I am due to go down there for their Domicilary program for MST survivors. I am already 100% for my PTSD, but they do reevals every 5 years. After the last one, I kinda don't want to have to keep on doing them. If there are any graduates of the program there on here, can you give me a brief overview of what to expect? Brian

ptsd Claim Has Been Rated But Did Not Have C&p Exam
Hello im new to this post and have a question about my claim. I am currently 50% for mental disability and have put in a new claim for ptsd, anxiety, and unemployability. It has been a year since i filed and I called the va and they said a decision was made a week ago and was waiting for review. My question is can they rate a ptsd claim without sending you to another C&P examination? If I dont have a c&p exam how can they know what or how to rate my claim. If anyone has any advice or answers I would appreciate it. thanks

ptsd 2nd Ptsd Eval
Hi All I discovered this great site a few days ago and wow you guys are great. I'm slowly reading thru the posts and am still a bit confused about a lot of things. Just a quick intro about myself. I served in the USMC and USA from 1984-1992 and a Desert Storm vet. I Lived in Germany up until 5 years ago and only filed a claim with the VA 2 1/2 years ago, I am 30% SC for PTSD, my other claims were denied due to lack of evidence. I don't have much in my med records because I never went to a doctor for my headaches and others problems that weren't that bad at the time. I know I should have gone to doctors but in my job I couldn't just take time off when appointme…

ptsd Va Math
Hi gang, I saw a reply in the forum a few days ago that suggested multiple low ratings (I'm guessing 10%) would actually hurt your chances of getting to 100% schedular. I've become painfully aware that the closer you get to 100% by slowly creeping up 10% at a time is pretty futile. Sometimes it even seems to go backwards . However, I also think that the more disabilities that are identified the better off the veteran is in the long run. Am I wrong? I am currently rated at 90%. 70% PTSD, 20% DM2, 10% neck, 10% back, 10% tinnitus, and 10% for each leg for Peripheral neuropathy. I think the last 10% rating raised my overall rating about two points. Altho…

ptsd Stressor Cooboration?
filed a unemployablity claim in 2006 denied....had 60 % before filing also included was the claim for ptsd denied.... had a 60 % rated before i filed reduced 10% for sumthing i had for over 15 yrs va claimed error in a 40 % rating for leg .any how gave me service connection for (3) heniated disk 10% so award was the same 60% i thought a 70% disability rating was necessary to file for unemployability? as described by army Dr's when incident occured ie. Traumatic laceration of achilles tendon and nerves r/ leg claw foot deformity when struck/attacked by a power lawn mower from rear by unknown active duty soldier....hence i was 17@ the time delayed entry program. Dad had to …

Yes!
I'm still working on getting all my stuff together to file my claim. My therapist told me it would be great if i could get documentation of treatment rcvd outside of the VA. well, seeing how i have been pushing the issue aside for 20 years, i never kept records. just out of curiosity, i called the insurance company i had with fedex at one point. they had a record of a referral from 2000. wooohoooo! now if i could just remember who fedex used in the mid 90s....it just made my day to hear them say they had that pc of paper. after all these years, i may get some long over due relief. its almost as if my pain has been validated.

ptsd Effective Date, Dependent Spouse Inclusion
Hello, Experts, I was awarded 30% PTSD as of June 15, 2006, as a single Veteran, bringing my total compensation to 40% disability, (10% tinnitus since 2004). That was after I disagreed with their original Feb, 2008 effective date. In the same NOD where I disputed the effective date, I disagreed with the 30%, and stated that I should receive compensation for my dependent spouse and custodial granddaughters. I got the PTSD effective date amended several months ago, but the dependence issue was still under review, as well as the % of PTSD. Three weeks ago I received a VA letter granting the spouse dependent, but denying the granddaughters because they were not ado…

But, as of recently, there are some folks who just simply get me stirred up. my first thought is to just say screw it and delete my account. no great loss to you all. maybe i will sleep on it and see what i think about it in the morning....either way, i wish you all well in your future endeavors and hope you get the help you want and/or need. ptsd Getting Vso To Help!
My DIC claim is at the BVA (two years last March). I have talked with a VSO there in Washington who is from the American Legion. He is handling my claim before it goes before the appeal board. My late husband was receiving social security disability for PTSD (since 1992). He originally filed a claim in 2004 for ptsd but died in 2006 from cancer. No one has ever requested my late husbands social security records. I did, but only got the medical records...no letter stating his diagnosis. I have repeatly told the Washington VSO about the social security records but no one seems to want to request them. Social Security Administration has denied my request for the diag…
