ptsd Trying To Go To 100% Ptsd From 70 And Iu
Just how hard is it to get to 100% for PTSD... I have a very good batch of private doctor reports going back to 2004 each year I get a new report and across the board they say Poor.... has anyone gotten 100% PTSD? I hope not but with the problems happening maybe us with 70% IU and SSD will get shafted on the IU so I want to test the waters... I have a total of 9 years of twice a month doctor visits the last 5 with a private doc... My chances are???????????

ptsd Inappropriate Group Discussions?
If you are upset by or sensitive to discussions of homosexual topics; this could be triggering to you. Just be forewarned. Thank-you. I was participating in a PTSD Women's group recently at the VAMC. The focus of the group was supposed to be trauma issues. During one group mtg a group member mentioned that she was/is homosexual. No big deal. Another group member made mention of the same...again, no big deal. However, they kept talking about their lifestyles and preferences throughout the group. I found it odd as I thought the group was about trauma. The tdoc said nothing. The following week, one of these members made a very disturbing comment about havi…

ptsd Got The Dreaded Review Letter.
Wife called me this morning, seems that I had 2 notices from the VA that I'm up for a review to do with my claim. I'm 80%- and TDIU. I also recieve SSDI. I received that after going through the 6 week PTSD program a year and a half ago. Have all the good stuff from those docs who said I couldn't work. The even more idiotic part of this is, that now I have been approved for Fee Basis surgery on my lumbar spine, because the Richmond, VA VA is too backlogged. I was so freak ecstatic to get that news, that I should have known they were going to turn around and crush me again. Being vigilant about taking my meds, but this isn't going to be a good week. Arghh. I won't …

ptsd It's All In Our Head?
this was on col dan's site..pisses me off To: Ed Gentry, thefirstcav@ yahoo.com, or is it Larry Gentry? VSO's like you give veteran advocacy a bad name….Thank you Dr Gentry for your medical diagnosis You know so much more than the thousands of Dr's who have studied PTSD for years. You surely don't work for the VA? Although you sound like you do. You have anger issues, recommend You seek treatment for your PTSD See Gentry's remarks below "None of these men were depressed, sad or disturbed in Vietnam. Yet today they are either getting PTSD money or applying for it. These men are criminals. I am glad that my Congressional testimony helped …

ptsd Question Asked On Main Forum
Did not have actual C&P exam. I was advised by VAMC C&P department that my record was reviewed by doc and he/she must have determined that an actual exam was not necessary (?????). Additionally, PTSD claim was filed last year and according to the 800# rep, that is the one the C&P was scheduled for. I am so confused about what is going on. One rep said one thing, NSO said something else...now this person today is telling me the C&P packaged was returned on 01/22/09 and is now at rating board. The appeals are still in review with the DRO. It was suggested I send an IRIS to get more specific info. But can the RO rate on a claim for PTSD without doing …

Bill (hr 1) Bailout Bill
Greetings, Came accross this, and thought it needed to be posted. I am particularly concerned about sections 13101 through 13434 of the new bailout bill (HR 1). These sections would set up the infrastructure to computerize the medical records of ALL AMERICANS in a government-coordinated database, including psychiatric records. It is scary enough that a government bureaucrat is directed by statute to try to influence my doctor's decisions with respect to my medical care. But of even greater concern to gun owners is the fact that a government-coordinated database will now contain all records of government-provided and private psychiatric treatment. Last ye…

ptsd Iu Payments
I was wondering, I've been getting 100% IU since 2000. I saw once on paperwork the VA will be watching my case until 2017. I assume this is because I turn 66 that year and would be eligible for my SS anyway. At present I also get SS disability. I am 70% ptsd and 20% leg/back nerve thing. My question of the future. When the year 2017 comes around will they stop paying me my 100% IU because I would be retirement age, SS age, or will They continue to pay me 100%. Karen

ptsd Stirring It Up At The Dayton Vamc....again
Many of you know by now that I'm not likely to sit by and take "stuff". I fired off an IRIS complaint last evening (again) about the continuing lack of treatment for Military Sexual Trauma (MST) PTSD for women at the Dayton VA. I've been a pt there for well over 10 years now and the lack of treatment continues to astound me. It shouldn't because I'm dealing with the VA....but in a way, it still does when I see what else the Dayton VAMC applies its priorities to. Today, I received a reply from Connie LaRosa in Washington DC. Her and I often e-mail about what is (or isn't) going on at Dayton as far as treatment for women vets go....here is her lame, political answer …

ptsd 70% Ptsd Getting New Psychiatrist
I was rated 70% for PTSD quickly the first time. My Psychiatrist transferred after quite awhile with him, and I have been in touch on occassion via the number he gave me for emergencies. Wednesday I have an appointment with a new Dr. who has filled his slot. I have extreme anxiety about anything, and this is my current main focus. I wonder if he'll lower my rating, or I wonder if he'll have the family guns rounded up and taken away. Uncertainty and waiting are not strong positions for me. I have been honest, but sometimes wonder if I could have told more - but didn't because I didn't want to be confined or anything. I work at the post off…
