Thats right I was told this weekend at drill I will be going back! I am combined 80% and 70% for PTSD. I'm at a loss for words. I do want to complete the last two years of my six year contract, but with everything going on, I'm just suprised. I just hope they can find something other than kickin down doors for this old Scout to do. On the good side maby this deployment they will not loose my medical record!

Buddy Letters
Are there examples or templates or something like that one can look at? I'm at the point where I have to ask former company buddies for them and while I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth I'd like to be able to show them what is require to be an effective buddy letter.

ptsd C&p For Ptsd After Initial Rating
I was rated 100% PTSD in Dec. 2006-after 5 years! Now, I'm scheduled for another C&P exam in 2009 to make sure my condition hasn't changed. I have had to apply for SSDI and am unable to work. I have been in ongoing therapy and take regular psych meds. I've had the condition for over 30 years-why didn't they just rate me "P&T. I have a friend who is a bit older (62) who was rated P&T off the bat when she applied for and received 100% for PTSD and she is P&T. 1. Do you have to apply for P&T? 2. Does my current age (52) have anything to do with it? 2. What should I expect from a follow up PTSD Exam? Nadia

ptsd How To Spend My Money
I was awarded 100% SC PTSD. VA found me incompetent. My husband is going to handle my financial affairs. Does this mean when the retro money hits the bank, I have to ask the VA how to spend my money? We want to use all the retro pay to pay off our mortgage. Is this going to be a problem taking out all of the money for this purpose. Is there a limit on how much money you can draw out? How can they control what comes out of your bank account? I mean, if the money is in your account, how does the VA control your spending limit. ( if there is any)

ptsd Va Ptsd Claims
I am very new to this blog thing, but have been fighting the good fight now for over fourteen years. Yes you heard right. I have already been denied my request under the OLD GI Bill? I am a Veteran of two branches of the Military with all Honorable Discharges on record. It has occurred to me that we as Veterans have to get our collective stuff together in the form of a political party of some sort? That is, not the Am Legion, DAV, or other organization, but our own. What I mean here is that only the guys and gals who have been there and done that will know exactly what I mean. The ONLY way to bring about change to the VA is to have political power in Congress & th…

ptsd Vasrd 9411
Did you know that a new law allows retirees with under 20 years of active service, to recive retirement and V.A. comp. When filing for military CRSC retirement pay for combat wounded vets with PTSD, be sure your VASRD code# is listed as 9411. I was rated many years ago, before PTSD was recognized in 1980. My old VARSD # is not considered combat related. I now had to reaply for PTSD with the V.A.. I requested that the PTSD origin date go back to my first PTSD type rating date of 1978. I don't know if they will do it. I got my first CRSC Army retirement pay check this month. Hold on to your hats,...$42.00 a month.

ptsd Ptsd But Can't Prove Stressor
I am helping a Veteran who definitely has PTSD but served in Navy. The VAMC diagnoses him with PTSD and Depression but the problem is he served in Blue Water Navy and was attacked on boat as well as exposed to bodies. I went through trying to get somewhere in 1992 but he would no cooperate and VA would not help. In my mind his safest bet is to claim Depression serviced connected. Has anyone ever heard of Major Depression with PTSD as a Secondary. The Veteran is my Brother I gave up and it was easy to get him a Pension 5 years ago but it irks me that he is not getting full benefits. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
