Correction re John Mc Cain
I have learned ,since posting the glioblastoma post, that Senator John McCain WAS in Saigon, for a short time after the USS Forrestal Fire. He had been on the USS Forrestal at time of the fire, and then sent to Saigon briefly,so he was definitely exposed to AO ,as all Vietnam Vets serving below the DMZ were. Sorry.

Glioblastoma and Agent Orange
I got an email link to this article this AM.....Bob Walsh has been a radio show guest here many times and many of you know who Claude Unger is, as well as Joe Moore (Bergmann and Moore law firm) http://www.healthline.com/health-news/did-agent-orange-cause-mccains-cancer The problem with the premise of the article is that John McCain was never exposed to AO. But I mentioned that in a post here on Brain cancer. We didnt spray North Vietnam with AO .It was not tactically efficient in the North.Napalm was. But the Senator's terrible diagnosis has spurred a re newed interest ( I hope) in the fact that incountry Vietnam veterans seems to have a higher …

Brain Cancer and AO
Ben Krause, well known vets advocate, who is also a lawyer and a disabled veteran posted at his site today that John MCCain's brain cancer is an Agent Orange cancer, suggesting it is presumptive, which is not a fact. A recent CAVC case was vacated for a widow whose Vietnam vet husband had glioblastoma, the same type of cancer John McCain was recently diagnosed with. The decision is not precedent -setting. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/02/prweb5080394.htm Other veterans ( and their survivors as this is a deadly type of cancer) have succeeded in AO awards for glioblastoma and there are many links ,googable , to any vet with this serious type of can…

AO Survivors -info on Nehmer
http://community.hadit.com/topic/69387-poopsy-woopsy/ This came up in the above thread and although the info on Nehmer is a signifiant amount here in the AO forum, this had to be clarified as it could be hard to find under a search. Nehmer class action members who are the survivors of a AO veteran, under the 2010 Nehmer Court Order (which service connects IHD, Hairy Cell B, and Parkinsons in all incountry Vietnam veterans, do not have to file for substitution or accrued benefits when they file their AO DIC claim. All other surviving spouses of vets who had claims pending at death must file as substituted claimant or for accrued benefits within one year of …

Filing a Claim Question Agent Orange
Filed an AO claim one month ago. Went to all appointments, waiting for rating letter. My VSO only applied for a heart condition. After reading some of posts here, I could also file for my legs which were affected by my cardiac arrests along with some other problems I see mentioned here, Well yesterday I received a letter from the VA telling me that they have requested copies of my medical records for my claim. I also requested records which I received after a two month wait. The letter also encouraged to send my records. It went on to tell me my claim could be decided within 15 days if they do not hear from me. I have no problem with me sending the records but th…

Fort Gordon Herbicide spraying
..between Jan and May 1967. We hand-sprayed in isolated training areas, pond locations etc.-- pre-testing the grounds before the overhead Air sprays which started in July 1967. As holdovers waiting for orders after or between Radio and Radio-teletype (05C20) School we were subjected to these dangerous toxins. Metastized Prostate Cancer, Neuropahy, varuious skin cancers including melanoma. My case is headed toward Appeal now and I could use some Buddy corroberation of the spraying. Thanks, Retvet9
