AO good news
Got some good news to share. Some of you may know, or recall, that I had written elsewhere on here, that my Dad(Nam combat, 24 yr career retired, 60% SCD) and I don't exactly communicate very well. The grapevine tells me that it's my own lack of communication skills are the problem. Anyway, while updating my folks after yesterday's 6 month foster child case review court session, Dad went off topic to let me know that the VA has opened an AO claim for/on him. Said they initiated it(???)and that he has a bunch of appointments scheduled over the next few months. I was quite surprised that he wanted to tell me about that...since I'm usually the last to know, and my wife …

AO and the American Public
I bet if you asked 100 people on the street only half would have even heard about the War in Vietnam and maybe 5% would know anything about agent orange. Probably 3-5 million vets were exposed to AO including all the brown water and blue water navy. The companies that produced this deadly poison and sprayed in near, around or on Americans troops, sailors, marines, and airmen and women knew if was bad stuff. They got away with pennies on the dollar in compensation to their victims. We taxpayers are left to pay ourselves for our own losses. Why would anyone volunteer for this sort of abuse and yet we find 9/11 military gets basically the same treatment because " We …

What We Really Didn't Know about the (1) Year Rule
After returning from Nam 11/69, I was separated from the Corps, at the Great Lakes Navel Training Center. One day of seeing Naval Drs and signing Discharg papers, I was good to go. As with many other Nam Vets ( GI, Squids, other Jarheads and even a few FlyBoys) that I've come to know, to a man, nobody remembers anything discussed during their Separation Processing regarding the "1 Year Rule" for Service Connection of any Medical Conditions. It wasn't until I requested and received my MSR, that I saw that the 1st LT that completed my Separation Documents had signed off, indicating that he had discussed all VA Benefits with me. Not sure but I don't think I was Dru…

PTSD vs MALARIA
The difference between a PTSD award and a MALARIA disability award. PTSD will pay 100%. You will receive the easiest award possible-PTSD, before the VA will SC you for malaria unless it is inactive. If it is active you will receive 100% until they deem it cheered and 10% after that, but they lie to you because Valaria yes transferred to your kids and made just like the Zika Virus of today. They are making a big deal out of it because the public is aware of it where as when it was only military personnel getting malaria it basically meant nothing. Now it is a big deal because it kills babies just like malaria did but the poor slobs and the service board the brunt of t…

ACTIVE DUTY prostate cancer
Hi everyone, as stated in my title I am still active duty and have been diagnosed with PC and have undergone the surgery. I have been led to believe that the VA will compensate unto 5 years post surgery as it considers the cancer active. How can I confirm this information? every time I call a service officer they tell me that I need to file a claim to see if it will be approved as service connected. The symptoms initiated in a combat zone so they are service connected. The surgery left some long lasting effects just like everyone else, incontinence, frequency and ED. Could some one let me know if and/or what i would receive? thanks.

hypertension Agent Orange Exposure Symptoms
Getting ready to file a new claim for Agent Orange symptoms for my Vietnam Vet brother who was on the ground as USMC rifleman for 9 months, until he was WIA by a grenade booby trap. He was found to have hypertension and his USMC ENTRY physical showed him ineligible to serve -- then they gave him 3 more blood pressure tests and someone scratched threw the 'hypertension' and said ELIGIBLE to serve. His USMC exit physical after recovering from his wounds in 1970 also showed hypertension. In 2008, a physical showed hypertension, along with abnormal EKG with doctor's notes indicating cardio infarction and possible A-fib. I just had a private doctor give him a physical l…

diabetes Need advice
Ok my husband has Ann appeal in since11/12 for chronic renal failure secondary to diabetes. There is a new claim in ebenifits, which we did not do. It is saying for cornary heart disease RFE. I'm assuming that means renal failur evaluation. So I'm assuming again they are going to try and approve it asso with the heart disease. We put in for the heart disease 7/14. He was diagnosed with diabetic nephropathy by his private nephrologist. What are they trying to do? The appeal is still up. We have not gotten anything from them. No docket no etc. but he would loose a lot of back pay is what I'm thinking. Any thoughts ? From anyone.
