Problem With Voc Rehab Counsleor
Been having an issue with my VRC concerning my monthly subsistence allowance for the past 5 months. I attended an eleven month online class and the allowance is based on the hours in-class AND a special time tracker made just for vets. The minimum hours I logged were over the required time allotted (IT Certs). Back in July the amount of the payments began to shrink. I called, went in and emailed my VRC and she gave a different excuse everytime. With my classes still going on, she cut me off completley. However, I am getting the approval letters from what my counselor swore doesn't come from her office, stating that I am getting the full amount for the month. Can anyone p…

Independfent Living Program
After over 3 years and going on four I will once again meet with my Voc Rehab Counselor for the fifth time to review Independent Living Program. However this time we have a document from someone they hired that recommends that ILP provide me with a Temperpedic Bed and a HVAC System. By email my counselor promised to get what was on the list that I did not get via HISA Grant. Construction on my new walk in shower started Saturday and is supposed to finish tomorrow. I am very happy with it and to my dismay you can get a very nice bathroom for 5600 using a VA recommended contractor. I intend to listen more than talk. She has the recommendation by the hired consultant. The…

Vocal Rehab Options For Veterans
Nowadays we must remember that there are thousands of young men and women in America who are veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. These younger veterans often have service-related injuries that hamper their efforts to find and hold good-paying jobs. To help these men and women, the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) offers veterans a vocational rehabilitation program known as Chapter 31.

ptsd Voc. Rehab. Questions
Hello, I recieved an email out of the blue yesterday from a person contracted by Voc. Rehab. I had taken classes off and on in 2009, and 2010 when they were available at the bases I was assigned to in Iraq and Afghanistan where I work as a contractor. It has been a year since I have taken any classes, I was planning in attending again when I am finished working in Afghanistan in approx. 1 year. I might even be able to take some while here but have not yet. The lady on the phone asked me if I wa s planning on attending classes again I said yes, she asked a few more general questions. Then at the end she asked me if I was recieving any type of prescriptions from VA,…

Assistance With Program
My classes online have begun but I still need materials ordered and I have not gotten any communication with my VRC. I simply can't get a hold of him to order my books and he already knows that my classes have started but has made no effort to get the books needed or responded to my emails and calls. I feel like I'am being set up for failure, I haven't even received my stipend from last semester when I was under a different counselor. Is this really how this program operates? What the hell is going on? My classes have started and I still have no books

Re-Applied For Vocrehab
I have some questions as I have re-applied for Vocational Rehab. How does the counselor look at your service conditions? Do they also look at your ratings for it, example I have bi-lateral carpal tunnel but never applied for an increase but it does impair my work and daily living. As well have Lumbar issues SC'd, Cervical spine issues. When working my doctor signed off on the FMLA for not lifting over five pounds. I did Information Systems work and Administration while on active duty. I was in VocRehab back in 2007 but because of finances I was unable to quit working for school but now I am at 50% SC. In 2007 my counsler took control of the whole education port…

Full Time Then 1/2 Time Partway Through Semester. Sustenance Rate?
Hello All. Ok I have a question. My current semester runs from 9/1 to 12/23 and I am taking 4 classes, 1 is an accelerated 10 week course, 2 are normal 3 credit hour classes and one is a lab worth 1 credit hour. From what my school has emailed me the number of credit hours multiplied by 18 (a constant) divided by the number of weeks in the term equals the number of ECH's. Generally, accelerated online courses are considered 10 week courses: (3x18/10 = 5.4 ECH + 7 credits from your full length courses(2 3 credit courses and a 1 credit hour course) = 12.1. Now 12 credit hours is full time so will I be paid the full time rate for the 10 weeks that I will be a …
