  1. Look at the bright side. You got 30 and then 50% quickly I was at 0% for 5 years and clawed my way up to 70% over the next 10 years.
  2. Im currently rated 70% from the VA 50% hearing loss 10% tinitus 10% left shoulder 10% right shoulder 10% right wrist I was recently awarded Social Security Disibility (SSDI) My award letter states Social Security Disibility benifits are awarded due to... Hearing loss Tinitus Right wrist Left shoulder Right shoulder Meiners disease *SO BASICALLY ALL THE SAME DISIBILITIES OTHER THAN THE MEINERS DISEASE* I want to go give the VA copies of my social security award letter... But I am terrified that they may make me do a c@p exam????? I know my VA conditions have not improved bit all it takes is an evil or incompetent VA Dr. Saying somthings slightly improved and then my hearing loss or wrist ect. gets reduced in rating. Is there a way to avoid c@p exams? Does every TDIU applicant do a new c@p exam? I feel that Im deserving, afterall the US goverment just said Im disabled for the same disibilities that are from my military service.... But the thought of c@ps and possible reduction is terrifying. Im thinking about just giving the VA my Social Security award letter and hoping they can put two and two together and just infer TDIU on their own. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  3. Thank you Berta. Im kind of scared to reopen for TDIU. I read that they would give me new c@ps. I know more than likely everythings still the same...but Id be devastad if they reduced any of my ratings. Is there another way???? I would greatly prefer if they simply inferred tdiu on their own. Can I just give them the social security award letter and hope they put two and two together lol... What approach do you recommend?
  4. Sorry Troop51, Im too new to this to answer your question. Bronovet. Youare absolutely correct. Im married but we live at seperate residences right now. Will have to wait and see how that plays out. Bottom line is that I will definitly get more than my current 1650 from the VA and for that I am grateful.
  5. I went before a social security judge a month ago and I just got the letter from the judge today. I am now considered disabled by the US Government!!!!! Im getting back pay of $2300 a month times 26 months. I think thats 58k or so but 6k will be going to my lawyer. As far as I know there is no tax so I should get a check for around 50k. Ive been unemployed for three years and struggling to scrap by so this is truly a God send!!!!! Ironically the same exact issues that get me 70% from the VA got me a Disabled decision from the Social Security Administration. The VA rates me... 50% hearing loss 10% tinitus 10% left shoulder 10% right shoulder 10% right wrist For a total of 70% I really cannot believe this!!!!!!!!!! I feel truly blessed!!!! I was devastated a year ago when I paid Dr. Bash 9k to do IMEs and the VA still kept me at 70%. My lawyer says his letter is what got me considered disabled!!!!! So it ended up working out for me. Thank you Dr. Bash!!!!!!!! 70% from the VA plus the Social Security disibility monthly money combined is more than I ever would have gotten from being 100% from the VA. I get 1650 from the VA and 2300 from Social security Disibility. 3950 a month tax free!!!!!!!!!!! I can finally rest.....
  6. I collect 2300 a month from social security disibility for my hearing loss. The US considers me disabled... But the VA says only 50% lol
  7. Congrats!!!!!! Im 50% for hearing loss and Im very deaf. My scores are in the 80 to 85 range.
  8. How long did it take to get your decision after the alj hearing?
  9. My dilemma contimues... Job wants me to start in aprox 30 days Lawyer aays I 99.9% won ssd but I still dont have the paperwork in my hands. Sooo confused
  10. I was turned down for ssd a year ago and then again 6 months ago during the reconsideration phase. My conditions are... Hearing loss Vertigo Pain in shoulders, knees, right wrist Depression due to hearing loss A week ago I had the final phase which was a face to face with a ssd judge. The hearing took around an hour and when it was completed I felt that I was 80 or 90% likely to have won social decurity disibility benifits. I told my lawyer my guess of aprox. 85% and she said its much higher. She then told me 99.9% I won!!!!!! She said shes done hundreds of these and theres absolutely no doubt that I won. Ill believe it when I actually get my letter but it definitly feels like celebration time to me.
  11. Ill scan what Dr Bash wrote later. From what I saw...... Me and my friend both used dr bash. My friend went from 80% to 100%. I remained at 70%. They used everything dr bash wrote as gold on his claims. The VA put a lot of weight on everything Dr Bash said. However the person who did my claim did just the opposit and tried to undermine Dr Bash at every turn.
  12. I hope you can read it lol. I was prescribed zoloft today for depression due to my hearing loss. Dont know how this will tie into tbi but the ball is still moving forward.
  13. The VA admitted that I did have sufficient evidence to prove a likely tbi related injury in my most recent claim denial of July 2016. However they stated that I was not treated for any tbi related injuries after the stitches removal to my face in basic training in 1998. I feel that they are correct, however I was 18 years old. I didnt know that passing out twice within a week of my tbi could be tbi related. I also had no idea the ringing in my ears was probally from the tbi. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT A TBI WAS!!!!! The last thing I was trying to do was stay at fort benning Georgia doing Infantry basic any longer than I had to. So I sucked it up. So my quest for tbi continues (atleaste they admit the possibility of a tbi in writing now) My tbi has been in the appeals process for 6 months and I have hired a disibility lawyerIhard to believe 4.5 years have passed since I started this thread. I will never give up!!!!!
  14. Havent worked in three yearsFired from post office in 2013Applied for social security disibility in 2014Was medically discharged from the Navy in 2003 for various medical reasonsDenied social security disibility in 2015Again denied on apeal for social security disibility in 2016Living off military disibility pension of 1900 per month is very stressful, doable, but stressful.2016 after ssd denied apeal, I applied for various jobs. I know I would have a hard time doing and keeping any job due to my disibilities, but times are financially hard.Jan 2017 one of the jobs is giving me a drug test and intends to hire meJan 2017 I stand before an SSD judge and my lawyer says I have a very good chance of winning. The job is a very good paying job at 28$ an hour, however Im not sure if I can do the job due to my medical limitationsThe SSD will give me $2400 per month tax free however I do not know if I will win? They both seem to over rule each other.I cannot collect ssd if I work and vice versaMy lawyer states that the judge usually takes about 8 weeks to mail a decision after an ssd hearingMeaning I would have to start my new jobs in mid march.I am not sure if the new job would wait nearly two months for me to start...But my worst fear is to accept the job and then see that I was approved for ssd. Or not accept job and be denied ssdThank you for any help.
