  1. 60 to 80 is a BIG difference!!! Huge congrats to you!!!!
  2. Congrats on the 30% Ofcourse you can appeal
  3. To me his hearing loss could be any where from 30 to 60% He had speech discrimination scores in the 20s on come test That would put you way up there. Im surprised your hearing hasnt worsened over the past six years. Mine keeps getting worse every three years or so
  4. If the va will give me a job then I will take it for sure. Right now I'm using the voc rehab for my bachelors and since voc rehab said there wasn't a job at the va I could do then they are also paying for my masters degree in marketing. The truth is even with a masters in marketing I don't think anyone really wants to hire hard of hearing people. But Ill try Sad seems a long shot for hearing loss. My buddy is 70 percent pts and every door in the world seems to swing open for him. People seem to think severe hearing loss is like wearing glasses. Pop in your hearing aids and 20/20 hearing lol Yea right... But just ranting now....
  5. I cannt help answer your questions but I can give you a huge congrats on the 50 to 70%
  6. Gi used dr Bash and Im waiting on the results of my va and ssdi claims. I dont know if Ill win. But I know Im in this battle fully loaded. That peace of mind is worth it. I would have likely blown the 8k I spent on car stuff or electronics ect anyways. Many good ime's like I now have may serve me well right now or in the future. To me win or lose its likely worth it
  7. Great info everyone. Thanks a bunch. However it does seem hearing loss ssdi is very hard unless you are totally deaf
  8. I put in a claim for ss disability for hearing loss 2 months ago. Im currently rated 50% hearing loss and 10% tinitus from the Veterans Affairs. Havent worked in 18 months I also added my diagnoses of R wrist and shoulder (L and R) pain. 30% rated by the Veterans Affairs. VA total rating is 70% I also submitted doctors diagnoses of depression...gerd...ED...high blood pressure...L and R knee pain...sleep apnea and meiners desease. I get no veterans affairs compensation from these as of yet because the claims are still pending. I also have paperwork from Dr. Bash stating that I cant work due to my above medical conditions. Well .......What are my chances for ssdi? Im filing primarily due to my hearing loss. Anyone getting ssdi from hearing loss? Google searches turn up nearly nothing
  9. I am paying back 30k in severance from being a discharged e5 in 2004 with 6.5 years of service. I recieve 1825$ a month from the VA and they only take 260$ per month to pay towards my severance pay. My initial award was 20% so perhaps this is why?
  10. Ive been doing VA claims for 11 years. At first they were two plus years Then a year and a half to two years Then my last one in 2013 was 14 months.. Well I put in a quick claim for 7 contentions on August 10 2015..... I checked ebenifits and just 3 weeks later it says they are in the decision phase??? My estimated claim close date in Sep 15 2015.. We are talking 1 to 2 months.... Is it really this awesome now?
  11. 10 Aug 2015 I reopened my claim for TBI. I got a letter and independant medical evaluation from Dr. Bash. Hopefully I get some traction this time. Its been a long road
  12. 5) Deafness. Deafness of both ears, having absence of air and bone conduction will be held to exist where examination in a Department of Veterans Affairs authorized audiology clinic under current testing criteria shows bilateral hearing loss is equal to or greater than the minimum bilateral hearing loss required for a maximum rating evaluation under the rating schedule. I did see the 60 percent bilateral hearing loss but it was only in combination with 20/200 blindness or worse from my reading?
  13. Im 50 percent hearing loss and 10 percent tinitus. This is the first Ive ever heard about an smc award for just 60 percent hearing loss. I thought you had to be 100 percent hearing loss to get the k award????
  14. My NODs never took more than a year???? I simply submitted a new claim and that was it??? Oh well. Looks like I may withdraw the NOD and just continue the quick claim. Thanks for the info everyone
