  1. I contacted the Secretary and received an immediate response. I would have to say go for it, especially if nothing else has worked. Good luck. I hope you get what is deserved.

  7. That is a good link Berta that you posted about a nexus between MS and cataracts. I see a doctor all the time about my eyes, so far so good except adjustments on my glasses. Good luck to you Hollie.
  8. Congratulations on this part, good luck on the next step!

    R1 to R2

Now that I am rated at R1, my wife asked me the other day how do you get to the R2 SMC rating? That question I would like to know also. My wife does give me bowel and bladder care regularly due to my MS, and she is paid by the VA monthly for that. Thanks for any help.
  10. Congratulations on your win a good luck with the dog!
  11. I can relate I am SC for ms too. I get a home health aid 3 times a week paid for by the VA. You should have no problem getting a scooter and lift. If you can see a social worker at the VA they should be able to lead you in the right direction. My wife gets paid to be my caretaker for bowel and bladder care. The VA should also cover any OT or PT you receive. They sent someone to my house for both PT and OT.
  12. Congratulations to you Gastone you deserve it good luck!
  13. That is how I explained this to him and appeal anything less than 30% from the military. They wanted to give me 20% from the Marine Corps and I appealed that decision and won the 30% instead.
  14. Can he start this with VA before being discharged?
  15. I have a cousin who is going to be medically separated from the service. I told him he needs to make sure he gets at last a 30 percent rating so he will then be considered medically retired. He asked if he could start the paperwork now before he gets out for the VA, i Said really I do not know so that would be my question for someone here to answer. It has been a long time since I went through this process and a lot of battles along the way I can not recall all the steps so if someone can help me in any way I would appreciate it. I can help him once he gets to the VA part, it is getting to that point I do not remember fully, thanks!
  16. Congratulations, and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
