I saw this as well. I was afraid to do it also--trust is a huge issue the VA is still has to earn.

There has to be a more efficient way. I am barely making ends meet. 7 kids, a wife and home--VA could care less if I start going into deep debt and get foreclosed--once you are homeless though they give a S#%&. Don't make sense. I have in writing where my doctors told me do not go to work-anywhere--period--"you're a trainwreck waiting"--I am following the recommendations. Another told me " you are one fall or slip on the ice" away from being paralized for life (the result of over 400 parachute jumps). It don't make sense. Can't draw unemployment either-- and to add insult to injury no state will accept me as a resident--go figure. I know I am one of THOUSANDS in the same shape. I don't even know if I'll get anything--but it sure would be nice to know in a timely manner so I can pursue other options--if I have to go to work somewhere then I must-but if I dont follow VA medical opinion then I am "non-conformant"---blows my mind---the Gov't NEVER waited on me--EVER

Thanx Tiredcoastie. When I was a Chief in Mayport FL at ATG from 99-02, I used to inspect, train and combat certify all the bouy Tenders and the Mackinaw up in the Great Lakes. Coasties are friends of mine. God Bless

Claim completed 31 March, no sign of movement on money. Called 800 (pronounced "aint-hurryn") number and told that claims processing as far decision has been increased but could be 2-3 months before any money moves. Anyone else having this issue?

I would just answer the questions asked--period. Nothing more or less. You were not "gainfully employed" according to the official DOL/VA standard. Chin-up!

Not all of my conditions, but a few of them will be reviewed next year. Basically we will be called in from time to time for a review of a Condition. If it has gotten better or gone away in their opinion than the VA can lower a % at any time. Most of the time it is just a way for the VA to control us for a bit. The VA can always at any time make us permanent, which is the ultimate goal. Good luck

Try calling the VA at 1-800-827-1000 and see if the will verify if the info has been received. If they verify info received, ask them to send you an acknowledgement in writing for your records.

Also see if they will give you an update on the status if your claim. Don't know if this will help but it will not hurt to try it.
