  1. This is sounding more and more like a rare case. Some one sounds like is taking the claim to heart and trying to help you. I would just let it ride too but I would make a point that they know by not moving this along they are putting you in a big financial bind! I would also ask them if there is anyone out there who could help you. Stillhere
  2. I would not go through a stress test with a 100 blockage!! I really feel you are not being wise on your decisions right now. Doing a stress test can bring on a HA and then what? You are at the VA and I have been at the VAHC hundreds of times, if you have tell me how many times you have heard a "code blue" call and everyone is running around to help? I know I haven't. Not scare you but take care of yourself! My son is a RT at a prestigious university hospital and he is always telling me about how they have "code blues" and actually practice response times? Stillhere
  3. I am concerned that you had an HA and no action was taken. Your blockage appears to be in a place they can't due surgery is strange. Do you have any other kind of insurance? Keep a very close eye to any pain in the area around the heart/chest also the left arm and neck with back pain too. You should also read up and be aware of all the signs of a HA! The next time you have any question pain or anything call an ambulance and go to the best ER in your area for heart services. The VA will pay that bill and when you are deemed stable you will be transferred to the VAHC to recovery. Goodluck to you! Stillhere
  4. Berta I bet if you check with your VAHC that they would give it to you too. Many of the VA hospitals allow spouses to be treated there. You should call your or stop by the eligibility office. I have heard the only ones that don't is because they are to busy. Worth a shot ( no pun intended) Stillhere
  5. If your claim is at the bva send the test results there and explain what they are for very clearly! If your claim is still with the ro send them there. Again make sure to mark them clearly so the VA knows what they are for! Do not i repeat do not even think the VA will know! Stillhere
  6. Check your decision letter it will state right on it what they used! If you don't see it they did not use it!
  7. It is logical that an dro review will take longer and in my case I want it to? Because asking for an EED if they don't do a complete review of my entire folder I will not win! My initial claim in 84 was a mess and the rater her missed a lot and had tunnel vision and just denied. It has taken me years and some telling me I would never get it! But I pushed and finally prevailed in 2008! Now that I am finally SC I want them to admit that they screwed up! The opinion of my last CP examiner is very powerful and I will fight this to my grave! I think back how this denial has hurt my family over the years and hoping they do the right thing! If not then on to the BVA but the SOC THEY will HAVE TO WRIte A DOOSEY! Stillhere
  8. Have you already been through the nehmer award or were not subject to that? If you have been SC since 77 I would think a letter from your doc should give you the increase and put you at least at 100% Nice to know you have been living as long as you have with heart disease! Keep doing whatever it is you have been doing! Stillhere
  9. Interesting in the VA's acknowledge letter for my NOD that they now say in my request for a due novo review that if a 'clear and mistake able evidence is found a CUE will be called? Is this new? Or something I never noticed before? Either way I feel this is a goof thing right? Berta has often mentioned of VA cueing themselves . I guess I will find out? Again I am hoping this can be moved along better than the others. I am not getting any younger and had my third stent put in last year! Stillhere (though)
  10. OK as everyone knows dealing with todays VA is nothing like dealing with the other, even in the last 5 years! I sent in a NOD on July 15th and it just showed up in ebenefits today. I wasn't even looking for it or maybe I was but there it is! That is a run of what 40 some days. Hmm guess they are really backed up. My claim for hearing loss that I don't feel went back far enough took from 2008-2012 so looks like this one could go even longer! I am feeling OK but really tired a lot most of the days now and not on the computer helping as much as I used to be. I seem to get angry at some of the posts and replies and have to bite my typing finger a little bit! Guess I am starting to show my age. Oh well I will continue to help when I can and wish everyone good luck with their claims. Stillhere
  11. Sorry about your hubby! I read the whole thing and would say if the argument was when the cancer started that this IMO covers it very well and you should have no problem if that is what this IMO is meant to do for you. The dr. is very forceful in his opinion but not overboard. and the back up for his opinion is very well laid out. Stillhere
  12. You show you are at 100% already so money is not an issue right? If you feel that way then file a new claim. But if you want to try and keep everything in some what order just for ease just file an NOD. Waiting is waiting whether you are waiting under a tree, or fishing just choose your own medicine? Not sure if this makes much sense or not but your question kind of is that way too. Be interesting if someone else touches this one. Stillhere
  13. i think JBasser has it. I am 100% for my heart and have a bunch more of 20,10,50,20. They awarded me SMC s after they gave me my heart one. I am also just recently 70% hearing and 10% tinnitus. So in my case it was the combined total that they awarded. Stillhere
  14. I suggest you try Rehab and get their opinion also have you filed for SSDI?
  15. I am confused? If he has been at 100% for 15.5 years isn't his % protected at that point?
  16. Berta, Has you going in the right direction of course she is the best! Get the fibro connected and then see about getting treatments for your PTSD and make sure and go. Maybe down the line the vet center will be helpful for you and you will succeed. Remember to always tell your counselor the truth about how you feel they are the ones that can help you the most. I am a Vietnam vet and actually was sent to the clinic for a examination after an unpleasant episode with a rehab counselor! I didn't realize I had PTSD and did not take to kindly to the DX but I am what I am and at least that have a name for how I am. Remember your service memories will stay with you the rest of your life and kind of like an alcoholic it will get better at times and worse at times. The key is how you handle it and live your life. I personally do not like the use of women in the military among others but it is what it is. I feel from just reading your post you will be fine of course you are going to need help along the way but I wish you the best! Stillhere Not preaching or maybe I am but, I am not a doctor or a shrink I just suffer just like many fellow vets.
  17. The money you are being comped is to help you replace the lost earnings you have lost because of your disabilities. You earned it by serving!! Have you tried rehab with the VA? If not go to the VA and sign up. It is a pretty good program and you are helped all along the way. Also if they say you are eligible because of your conditions then you have another bit of evidence to help you on your way to IU. Personally being that young I would hope rehab can help you. Also all military members serving now get a 5 year medical treatment from the VA after discharge and I think dental is even thrown it to help after service! Good luck to you, and thank you for your service! Stillhere
  18. This runs right along with mine Carlie thank you. I will print this case out and use it if in fact my NOD does not succeed in a grant for an earlier EED. In my case I did have a preexisting hearing loss high frequency and also high sensourial hearing loss and otititus media at separation exam. The VA back in the 70/80's would almost always deny these claims and hope the vet did not appeal. I finally won mine in 2008 for 70% and tinnitus but they did not give me my first claim date so I will win with this appeal or with a cue if I must. Thank you again, Stillhere
  19. personally I have seen on Hadit and other veteran sites that as long as it is not active then there is not a rating. I would suggest you go to VA.gov website and look up decisions on the BVA court rulings and find one that is just like yours and see how that vet got awarded. I have used this many times in the past and really helps alot. Good luck Stillhere This link will take you to a case that sounds very familiar to yours as far as the NHL goes. http://www.index.va.gov/search/va/view.jsp?FV=http://www.va.gov/vetapp13/Files2/1317347.txt
  20. This is fantastic and clearly shows also that where ever that stuff went so did its toxic self! Stillhere
  21. Case management veterans affairs I think. Why? Does it matter.
  22. As I posted to John I will just have to disagree and will until showing accurate and complete number from science and that will be all. Stillhere
  23. John999, I first filed a claim for my hearing loss in 1984 because I was having trouble hearing and I knew without a doubt it was from my time in service. I then like most of us went on with my life buying my aids and paying out of my pocket for everything because back then insurance did not cover it. I started hearing about the AO problems in vets lets say in the late 80's from news reports that their was going to be a class action and vets were dying! I personal did not have those problems back then so I did not file. I am a member of AL so I kind of kept my ear to the ground and when I heard/read that AO was having DB2 connected to it. I actually called my brother because his DB2 was real bad and told him he should file. He did and is currently something like 60% for that alone. Anyhow I was starting to have problems with it too so I filed about a year later after I was dx with DB2 and was granted at 40%. My heart disease which Berta helped me with a few years back was connected to my DB2 before any mention of it being a presumptive. Now I am 64 and I have all kinds of this and that and sometimes think I am going to die tomorrow. I hope I have answered your question . Kind of forgot what it was there for a minute. Do I believe that everything is connected to AO ? well the numbers are there for most of what congress and the AMC has determined YES. But I believe in science and the numbers. They have to lead me there, just like it has with AO, the numbers and the science were there. It appears that you and many hear on this site like to advocate to file for anything for the future. I guess we will just have to disagree on this. Stillhere
  24. Harleyman, Are not these claims adding to the back up and causing Veterans of today with legit claims suffering even longer to get their deserved benefits. If BW vets want to go on record as having made a claim then fine but to actually have the VA working them is a waste of time! These claims of throw it on the wall and see if it sticks hurts all of us! Almost like being an investor in stock market future! Stillhere
  25. Ok here is what I found by googleing : amcdirmailbox@va.gov <amcdirmailbox@va.gov> Good luck! Stillhere
