  1. Now is the time to keep pushing. Never give up - never give in. I know the apathy gets frustrating and confusing sometimes. IMHO, when it comes to veterans issues, " support the troops" can only be found on bumper stickers. However, keep on pushing and someday you will succeed.
  2. Good Evening Meddac, You are truly one of the few, and I want to thank you for your good work and for all the vets that you have helped. We need more allies like you. Thanks for being there.
  3. Good morning Roly, I understand that you have already sent this "letter in support of your claim", to the VA. Well, to answer your questions, IMHO, & to add my 2 cents, No you haven't, & no you didn't. However, you do have a long way to go before you rest. Best wishes for a successful outcome.
  4. Hi "mike/3/8/cav". How's your claim going? How's the weather up in the north country, tonight? It's a cold wait down here.
  5. It took about 30 days for me to receive a response, and less than 30 days after that, for a C&P exam. That was at the end of November, 2008, I haven't heard from them since then. My most positive thoughts are with you for a successful outcome, Old5311. That's how mine is going so far. Good luck with your claim.
  6. Greetings Illinois,... I have been following your HB0273 efforts,. Outstanding. ... I have always appreciated Florida's vet real estate tax exemptions. I Hope my state will do something this session. Last November, 85% of my fellow voters', voted to allow our state reps to grant vets a better tax exemption. As you all know, our over burdened communities, cities and states are taking a heavy loss in tax revenue this year. Do the good civilians really care about their veterans? We shall see... JMHO... My most positive thoughts are with you all', in your efforts. Good luck.
  7. In the 1970's, 1980's and even in the 1990's it was SOP for many VA doctors to believe that. Of course, back then, many of them had blood on their hands because of the ignorance of the medical community. As you know PTSD was not even recognized as a disability until late 1980-81. In the past, when stressed out vets were accused of faking it, many vets suffering with PTSD, blamed themselves, and went out and committed suicide. I had a loser VA doctor ask me that same question, a couple of decades ago. I walked out and sought private help. What an insult.
  8. Exquisite, Wings. ... My most positive thoughts are with you. You have set a model and style, that I will turn to, when preparing my NOD. Thank you for sharing. Bob
  9. It seems to work out that way, Cavman... However, let me add, this time, those apathetic bureaucrats are going to get their asses kicked. You hang in there, my friend. Cmdr. Bob
  10. Good advise rentalguy1. I went out dancing Saturday night, for the first time in a year. Your post applies to me too. Good luck on you NOD, rdnkjeeper. Cmdr. Bob
  11. Welcome aboard "Roly",.. And welcome home brother. It sounds like you had an adventurous life, in your youth. Me too. Good, bad or ugly, it makes for great memories. I wonder what the draft dodgers in our generation dream about? Seriously, as you know, we have knowledgeable members here at Hadit, and I'm sure someone will be by to help you. Congratulations on you retirement and good luck with your claim. Bob
  12. That's a lot of meds, "rjimenez",... At least you are making an effort to take care of yourself. I'm not a doctor, however, I did play one onTV once. ( Just a stand in ). I would recommend that you coordinate this through all of your doctors, if you have more than one Doc. The right hand has to know what the left hand is doing. Best wishes. Cmdr. Bob
  13. Good Morning free spirit etc,...I am just checking in to see if you have received the reimbursement check yet. Best wishes,
  14. I am disappointed to hear that a temporary 100% convalescent rating is something you have to wait more than 30 days for. There should be a fast track kind of system in place. How is the vet suppose to live while recuperating? I was on temp. 100% in 1973. The doctors sent a note and in a month or two, I don't remember for sure, the check was in the mail. I'm going to tag along on this thread to see how things work out for you all. Best wishes on your recovery, Please keep us posted. This is another unbelievable story of VA apathy.
  15. Awesome stuff. Thank you so much. This kind of sharing is exactly what Tbird always talks about. Knowledge is very powerful, indeed.
  16. You are right on target, SFCTRUCKDRIVER. I fought the VA for my freedom, every step of the way. I'm now well over 20 year protected, so I don't have to worry. However, in my youth, I gave them trouble... etc. I even turned down SSD, when I was told I qualified for it, Back in the 1970's, because of the ball and chain syndrome, you elude to. I applaud your post, and, am impressed with your wisdom. Well put, SFCTRUCKDRIVER.
  17. Thanks for the website link. My son thinks I'm rather backward in such matters. I once was on the cutting edge of technology. Back in the 1980's I was the first on my block to get a Brother WP500.
  18. Hi Testvet. Sorry I missed your post. I'm backlogged around here, today. Got it, ILS = Independent Living Services. Cool. Thanks for the info... And so a PDA is like a palm pilot??? I am reminded of the Seinfeld TV program, where his old dad called them tip calculators, And Kramer got involved somehow... funny show.
  19. Wow, Vietnam Tanker,.. I totally cannot figure out what a PDA or an ILS is????? I think the GPS is "global positioning system".??? I don't know what it all means, however it does sound cool.
  20. Good one, tagandbag. Thanks for the laugh.
  21. Hi Tagandbag,... The VA would probably cut your disability for having the ability to make your own dressers. Yeah, I enjoy woodworking too. The table saw sounds like a good one.
  22. Please accept my condolences and my most positive best wishes to your sister and family. They are most fortunate to have you in their lives. I am always saddened to hear of a fellow veteran's death. Although I did not know him, he is a brother. He was a part of our Tontine. Your perseverance is admirable. Your accomplishment and hard work is an inspiration, and will be an aid to other vets in the future. Best wishes and welcome aboard. Bob
  23. Yesterday, I called the Dayton vet center and checked out the programs for women vets in your area. I hope the new MST PTSD coordinator works out for you. If not, can you apply for fee-basis, and find a private Doctor to help you, purple?? I wish you well.
  24. Hi Cavman,...where's the lawyer, when you need em'??? lol
