I have put in a claim for PTSD. I had sex with a woman but later found out she used to be a man. This all happened while I was in service. What are the chances of getting PTSD S/C? Since this incident I have had vivid nightmares, screaming in my sleep, and flashes of the person that deceived me. All these I contribute to this incident and now see a psych for this. He even said that my behaviors dramatically changed after this incident. During service I tried to get help but my superior just laughed at me and didn't refer me to anyone. I guess he thought I was joking.....

I put in a claim with the DAV and the rep said I have an excellent chance of getting nothing. Now my PTSD is really setting in so I think I will get it. Might take a few months though since my case is complicated.

For the life of me I do not understand why so many Vets want a PTSD Diagnosis when the VA makes it almost impossible for Vets to get it short of MST or Combat PTSD.

If anything the VA should be well aware that millions suffer from PTSD due to life stress. I wonder how many have PTSD due to 911?

So the bottom line is that there are other things a Veteran can get comp for that are far easier to do than PTSD.

Without knowing too much about your situation I would recommend that you consider depression or another psych. disorder?

The he-she preyed on you and that's sexual assault. Trust your feelings and instincts!

File your PTSD claim.

I'm supportive of you filing a PTSD claim with VA for personal assault.

Be sure to use the PTSD secondary to personal assault form.

You got to consider that there are vets who have severe combat PTSD, and you are guys are talking about alligators and having sex with transexuals. Unless the alligator or transexual attacked you I would say your PTSD claims are going to get no respect. It is hard enough for combat vets to get PTSD claims through the system.

Were you still on active duty when you found out that the woman was a man? If so, did your behavior change? Did you receive any article 15's...in other words, did your performance decline following this incident? If your military records can show that your performance showed a steady decline following this incident, you may have a good case.

I strongly disagree with you,it took me only six months to be service connected for PTSD , although I should have gotten alot higher rating, and I will the next time around , so never give up

you have to keep fighting for your rating!
